No doubt a fit Commons is an asset and would take the SPL by form. Up until yesterday I still was disappointed we had not signed him and felt when he was signed last season we needed his type of player more than Celtic did.
The Twitter thing though shows a lack of class and adds to the speculation about what happened after the St Johnstone game and rumours all is not well in the camp.
I post on a thread where a couple of Notts Forest boys post and they said this is exactly what Commons would do, start of well, gain weight, criticise the club and then rediscover form just as he needs a move. Happened at forest and then happened at Derby.
Told me we hadn't missed out and after yesterday I'm beginning to think mibbe we didn't.
He didn't hear the interview and simply said he was disappointed at not being selected but will work harder to make sure he is next time.
He's quit twitter to stop any further confusion.
It's not a big deal, just the media blowing it out of all proportion. As per usual.
Bluetoonger, Thanks for your post. I was at the Saint Johnstone game and his penalty miss was shocking but it was his overall attitude during the game that annoyed me.
He seemed to think he was the star and could do anything he liked.
A fit Commons, playing like last season would always be in my team but one who plays like he has this season can leave in January.
After all these guys are well paid so is it too much to ask that they keep themselves fit?
