Against us and Spurs, you'll have more of the ball only because the strength in our teams lies in the pressing & quick counter attacks. Both teams with a different variant or interpretation of those tactics as well so using the same defensive plan against both teams might not work.
Anyways I had Chelsea down as challengers for this season. It didn't matter who the manager was as long as the players were motivated to play for the new manager, which seems to be the trend these days. Your real test will come next season where your players usually down tools after a successful first season.

Definitely. Things like playing a high line with players like Terry, Alex & Ivanovic in the back 4 were never gunna end well. But if you make a decision to go with the "pretty football" manager, you have to at least give them that linchpin player in midfield to give them a chance. If they're not at the club, pay whatever it takes to sign them.
We're still a work in progress, but we gave Sarri a perform to accurately evaluate the squad's potential to play his way like we didn't for AVB, and we've already seen it take effect... e.g. Alonso is relishing the inverted LB role, Azpl is looking iffy at RB, Kante has aspects of Allan's game but still needs to improve, Pedro > Willian on the right, etc... without Jorginho conducting from deep, we'd still be trying to figure out how to dominate games at all atm

Devils i have a feeling Jean Michael Seri was the back up plan for Jorginho. He certainly wouldn't have been as good but he would have probably been the next best available.
It was quite the coincidence that the Seri rumours seemed to grind to a halt almost side by side with the talks of Jorginho starting to heat up.
