Why do they do it
ffs, football players could literally click their fingers and their would be a line of 10people to take them where they need to go if they were drunk, incredibly selfish putting others at risk like that

Or just jump in a cab like anybody else.
They aren't above that are they?
I thought only Spurs' fans are products of gin lanes but it seems their players are too.
It's no excuse, but aren't most players told not to use some forms transport due to insurance purposes?
Getting in a taxi for example, not even girls are safe after a night out alone in a taxi. Now, what if it's a rival fan driving, or someone with an agenda. Could purposley crash the vehicle, hold the player to ransomn, call some mates and arrange for a beating etc etc...
It's not a safe place out there.

From BBC article:
"The court heard police in an unmarked car spotted Lloris' Porsche Panamera driving at 15mph (24kph) in a 30mph (48kph) zone.
He veered his car "towards parked vehicles" before correcting himself and went through a red light, prosecutor Henry Fitch said.
When officers stopped the vehicle, they found vomit and said Lloris had to be helped from the car."
Incredibly lucky he didn't hurt someone or himself if he was that drunk. What a idiot.

Can’t be right, someone on here said he was the equivalent of 1/4 pint over the limit a few hours after it was reported

Arrogance and stupidity.
No excuse for drinking at twice the limit.
He will be heavily fined by the court hopefully, and would also get disciplined by the club, most likely a two week fine of around £200k.
No sympathy, but once he has been punished we should in effect move on.
Fined £500 by the courts, they’ll learn him!
Two weeks wages donated to local charities in Tottenham please.

Will be quite a hefty fine I imagine. Firmino had a £20,000 one and he was only marginally over the limit if I remember correctly.

50k and a 20 month driving ban, not going to affect him in the slightest
20 month driving ban won't affect him?....okay mate.

Why would it? Simply hire a driver.
Does anyone know if a driving ban in the UK is effective on the continent?
A 20 month driving ban and £50k would affect anyone. Anyone who thinks otherwise is a delinquent.
