Unlucky lads, you had a good run while it lasted
Today just reminded me of the Chelsea 2-1 last season at Wembley.
Not beyond us to finish top 4 this season for CL again for the 4th season running but that is simply not enough. Trophies and signs of ambition need to be shown.
Absolutely crying out for a quality CM and forward in the summer and signed the square root of fack all instead

Today was nothing like the Chelsea game last season. We actually played well and were unlucky to lose.
Phenom, I don't want just top 4 anymore. Fed up of not winning anything. This club needs to win a trophy and it won't.
Levy’s a big reason that Spurs have found themselves in the positions they have in English football over the years, but I’ve felt for a while he’s also held Spurs back. This goes back to the days of Bale and the continual bottle jobs in finishing above Arsenal in the pursuit of 4th spot.
Too early to say for sure but we certainly seem to have lost our dynamism at the moment. We look a yard off the pace all over the pitch.

It was very similar then. Gave away cheap set pieces that led to goals I believe first half. Much like the first goal today. Chelsea didn't play well but we didn't either.
It's easy to over look the fact we are basically in the same position we are always in after 5 games

What do you suggest Darren? We spend £500 million?

failing to sign moutinho was the turning point for me.
Agree Don.
Liverpool have shown the ambition that we have not since we established ourselves as a top 4 team. The same lack of ambition that was shown when we first got into the top 4 ten years ago I might add. And now they look like they could go on to lift the title. How frustrating would that be to see them succeed by doing what we should have only a season or 2 before?
It's criminal we didn't spend any money considering the strengthening of our rivals and many of our players playing deep into the World Cup. The one that has stood out didn't take part. Funny that.
I just hope we can make top 4 and have the quality to win something else if we are going to be way off in the title race. Realistically though, I can't see even top 4, or one of the lesser cups being enough to prevent our best players moving on.

Big win must be real title belief now
Levy has made a complete mess of the transfer window and the stadium.
Eriksen and Toby will be off at the end of the season as they will only have one year left on their contract.
Reckon we will probably still sneak top 4 as our rivals are poor, but we are miles behind City and Liverpool.

Be disappointed if we don't finish above United and arsenal.
Liverpool are getting better and better and our transfer windows have meant we have stood still/regressed.
We don't have the quality to win anything spurtle that's the issue here. I love him, but supporters like Sandy etc will bury their heads in the sands and say it's all good, where I could see this coming a mile off. In fact I been protesting for years saying how I think Levy's ways will backfire on us eventually. The wheels are starting to come off slowly.
Why does the solution have to be to spend £500m? You could actually spend just some money on addressing issues in the squad. Better scouting would help also.
I think Levy’s always been about doing just enough to try and ensure he meets his own targets, rather than looking to be proactive and take some risks that could have allowed Spurs to go that little bit further.
That said, I don’t think the league is really something that is realistic for Spurs without a ridiculous amount of investment/some incredible scouting, City are just at a level that nobody in the prem will be able to compete with, in my opinion.
Zaha scores again. Would have been a useful signing for us now and given us more of the energy we have been lacking up front currently with Kane off form. If only we had the ambition.
I kinda made a statement similar to this when spurs signed no one, and got blocked by Sandy because of it :D
I dont get why a club cannot spend the money it generates from us, the fans. The people that watch the games on cable/sky and buy the shirts and are the reason people advertise on and off the pitch.
Spend what you earn. reinvest it and strive to improve your weaknesses. Especially if your rivals do.
Pool had Coutinho money, and CL money, and invested the £ back onto the pitch.
Some call it ambition. I call it common sense.
Its football first, then a business, not a business first that centres around football.

Yeah we need more quality for sure, to be able to compete on several fronts. One of the things that annoys me is when fans treat our first XI like it can't be improved. We have more than shown that it can be because players like Kane and Eriksen aren't always in form, and Lucas will have more or less pushed out Son. Never think it's too good.
The league has become out of reach with City and now seemingly Liverpool ahead of us. Hopefully we can do something elsewhere, as while our team isn't up there with those 2, it is still very good.
