Looks cool, don't quite understand why or what for, but cool none the less. My original still works too.

Guess its not quite as iconic as the Nes/Snes though. Most of the games mentioned can be played on PC for a lot cheaper than £90 seamlessly.

Can you play ps1 games on it, and when I say that I mean my ps1 disc games on it?

Sadly not. It comes with 20 games built in but they haven't said what they all are.

Looking at the Sony video that came out today, the games look very dated. Nice for nostalgia buffs but for gamers used to PS4 standard games and graphics, these games look really old and low-tech now.

2D sprites can still work on a modern-day 40" 4k television. I'm not sure that mid-90s 3D animation is going to hold up quite as well. The TV will have more pixels than the game has polygons.

That's disappointing.. kind of makes me feel like what's the point!

I have my PS2 and I also have an emulator on my phone but it would have been cool to have a Ps1 with built in games and the ability to play the ps1 discs and save to a Harddrive

Yeh I think the biggest problem are there aren't like 20 games that are that iconic and I mean in the same vein as SMB, Castlevania etc

And yeh like Hobo said the 3d stuff is gonna look horrendous on anything above a 28" TV

Will be interested to see the list as the big games were surely 3rd party I'm thinking:
Wipeout
Resi
Tomb Raider
Ridge Racer
MGS
FF VII
erm.....yeh I can't think of any more iconic ps1 games

FFS just take my money and get me one .

My heart says take my money, but my brain says this will be an expensive short lived thing!

20 games and thats it? Plus it will look dated

Yeah really don't get the point of it at all.

If they released a box with remastered games with added multiplayer, then that would be a game changer!

Nowhere near as good as the mini Megadrive/NES/SNES for using on massive modern TV's.

If it has the GOAT that is MGS I'll buy it.

Definite GOAT contender.

Probably between FF7 and MGS unless you include the sonics and marios of the world.

But definitely the GOAT's of whatever generation that was. 2nd gen?

4th generation maybe?

Atari 2600
NES
SNES
PS1

Never mind - just checked Wikipedia - apparently PS1 is in the fifth generation - it's including the ancient Pong consoles from the 1970s as the first generation.

Best thing about 5th generation was probably the high-fidelity audio. Went from bloops and beeps to full-on symphonies thanks to the space on CDs. Play MGS or FF VII without music and they'd be utterly average.

It has MGS, the goat. So definately buying it.
