Don't think kane's ever been good at pressing or high energy. I think eriksen and alli, maybe due to fitness? are struggling though, maybe because they have to come deeper?

Kane used to be a very good presser, was a stat around the time of the 16/17 season where only Vardy had completed more sprints/covered more distance than him that season.

I believe Dele was a big miss in the Liverpool game, as there wasn't too much space to run into however there were pockets of space which Dele is great at exploiting.

Seems the squad is too big for him.

---------

wonder if this is true... might also explain lack of signings

May well be and juggling around players for game time may be causing him issues

Suprising, he is not the most athletic of players. Mind you would have to have been better than morata at pressing

Agree with most of this but not about Lamela. He should not be starting.

As an observer I think one the strengths of Spurs since Poch has been there is clarity of role.

You had (have?) a way of playing and it didn't matter if you rotated the full backs because they did the same job. Didn't matter if you brought in a new CB (Dier or Wimmer for example) because they knew their role. Wanyama or Dier - both knew the job. Son or Lamela could step in for Alli or Erikssen.

Not saying they didn't all bring different attributes to the team but I'm saying the team, the style of play, was the strength.

I'm not sure you can say that now. 3 CBs, DM?, Moura ahead of Kane?

Maybe Poch needs to go back to basics a bit, go back to what made his Spurs team so good.

A large part of our current problem is simply that our best player and talisman is woefully off the pace and out of form. It has a bigger impact on the team when HK is having zero impact on games. Strikers tend to have streaks and he needs to get onto one fast!

Doesn’t explain losing from winning positions and inability to keep clean sheets. The whole set up is off pace. Kane through to the CBs

But you didn't sign anyone in the summer, so it's the same squad as last year and I didn't hear anyone saying anything like this then?

The problem I saw at the Liverpool game was the players weren’t on the same wavelength at all when we played the 442 diamond.

Trippier and Rose looked completely confused as to whether to stay or go, and the 4 central players were so unsure where they’d be positioned it really slowed our build up. Add to that Kane and Moura not really clicking as a partnership and we never took control.

I think the 2 up front should only be used when we have 3 CBs. This clarifies the fullbacks’ roles and gives us a bit more security at the back.

4-2-3-1 or 5-3-2 and we should soon get back to our best. I’m not concerned, despite 3 losses the margins have been small. If we struggle against Brighton, Huddersfield, Cardiff or West Ham we can all freak out a bit. Need 12 points from those.

Because we didn’t chop and change our team last year.

Kane has looked rubbish for ages if we are being honest. including the world cup, where fluke goals, tap ins, and penalties inexplicably got him to the golden boot. I cant remember the last time he had a really good game for us.

It’s not all doom and gloom yet. To qualify for champs league you usually need to average 2 points a game for the entire season. to win the league more like 2.5.

We currently just under. After 10 games we should be aiming to be on 20 points at least if we are to do anything of note this season.

Agree. He’s allowed a slump in form but I wish the press should stop saying its fatigue. I read that Eriksen has played 13 games more than him since 2016. He does far more running per game than Kane.

Poch is a class act and is sticking up for his players, including those who are not performing well!

Nice going, throw the manager under the bus and everything will get better!
