The rumour was started on spurs community where a poster said he got a text from a mate saying it.

“Got a text from someone today saying he’d heard Toby and Trippier had a bust up after the match on Saturday resulting in Toby chinning him. I’m sure it’s bulls**t but thought I’d share. The guy he heard it from is ‘well connected’ to one of the Spurs players apparently - the guy that text me said he got the text yesterday morning before it came out that those 2 weren’t traveling. I asked why he didn’t send the text yesterday and he said ‘I have a life, ****’. Even if true, not sure why that would prevent Trippier from going. Prob rubbish anyway. Here’s hoping....”

More importantly, why do people use 'text' as the past tense of 'text'? I always think it looks and sounds really odd.

Surely it is 'texted', as that's how regular English verbs ending in 't' work.

They were getting right into each others faces at FT after the Liverpool game. Apparantly it continued down the tunnel nd into the dressing room...

Then neither travelled to Milan. Plus the way Poch answered the questions about it in the conference - he seemed to be unusually angry!

Apparently Toby told Tripps he is a really bad defender and costs us a lot of goals - Tripps came back with the fact that he scored a freekick for England and Tobes went ' yeah that is enough of a career contribution for people to rate you'. Then Tripps slapped Tobes and they went at it. Apparently it had to be separated by Nkoudou and KWP as they were one of the only two who had energy after the match,

tbh, I can believe that Toby wasn't happy with the way the fullbacks ridiculously both went flying forward all game leaving verts and him 2 v 2 or even 3 v 2 time after time.

it was ridiculous play from Trippier and I would like to think that someone pulled him (and rose) up on it.. because the manager didn't seem to.
