I wasn't keen but to be honest I'm quite happy to watch you lot too so a longer sesh.

I don’t think Morelos is a big loss for this game because this is all about working ot ur strengths and their weaknesses. And that’ll be using width and getting crosses into their box. Lafferty is best placed to exploit that

Can’t wao for tonight. If we start brightly and approach with a positive confident attitude I can see is getting something from the game

Will try my best to enjoy it rather than have a heart attack. We probably took it for granted for years that we should be playing these games.

I fancy us to take a battering.

I'm not a big fan of Morelos and regularly call for someone else to play up top but this is a game i think he would have been ideal for. A striker that makes it sticks and win fouls.

But at least we've a chance of finishing with 11 Lafferty has a big opportunity and a hell of a job on his hands.

I really hope we play 3 at the back, 2 wing backs and 2 CM with 2 AMs. Congest the middle and give Tavernier and Barasic the chance to get balls into the Gazelle.

Prediction Villarreal 5-1 Rangers.

It’s a step up and a learning curve for this team. Great to be there and some games are a bit of a free hit - particularly the away games

But we’re not just there to make up the numbers. There’s no great shakes amongst them. They’re all very good sides but nothing to fear. They’re of no higher standard than Maribor.

So we should definitely be aiming high and trying to play our own game and see every game as 3 points.

There’s no reason why we can’t win all our home games. And pick up a point or two on the road. Only Spartak have started their domestic season well. And they’re generally poor travelers. The other two have had poor starts to theircseason and will have weaknesses we can definitely exploit.

As long as we give a good account of ourselvesxand don’t concede any stupid goals from slackness because at this level you get punished for mistakes

I think he may play Halliday in place if Kent to stifle them in the middle
Off today so I’ll go to gym soon home and read for a bit then game time
Not really seeing a win or even a draw to be honest but our game plan away in Europe has worked until now so who knows

I think Kent will play. He was excellent against UFA and had another good game at the weekend.

I think we’ll stick with 4-2-3-1. I’m convinced Grezda will start after his cameo appearance on Saturday and his pace and directness

That gives us the most protection, plenty of legs in the middle of the park and two wide attacking outlets both good runners with the ball and with top deliveries.

Candeias and Kent can drift out if the need too but both provide good legs in the middle to help out Coulibaly and Arfield.

I'll be fooked off if Halliday starts tbh.

I think it's important that you have outlets and I think that's why Morelos is a big loss. You also need your wide players to be able to carry you 30, 40 yards up the park to buy your defence a bit of breathing space.

It just strange.....Rangers fans all excited,on here,at work and in general....Celtic fans all apathetic really and it is the same competition at the same stage....understandable but weird. Will be at the Celtic game so won t see any if this but think comfortable enough win for the home side eventually!!

No I don’t jest. Maribor are regularly in the CL. They’re a good side. My point is the standard is similar.

Villareal are no Barca and Spartak are no Zenit. Just because they’re in the same league doesn’t mean we should fear them. Of course they’re very good sides. But they’re beatable sides. I think we have enough quality in our side to get results

Maribor just keep getting better and better with every passing day on here
