Eagerly awaiting what the rule set will be.

mayweather will at last get battered
been waiting 20 odd years to see that being given a kicking
I seriously doubt that it will be anything other than just a boxing match. Glorofied boxing match at best. Kicks won't be allowed.
In which case who cares about Mayweather boxing some 20 year old kickboxer who's never fought in a professional Queensbury rules boxing match before ?

Floyd hasn't thrown or received a kick in his life. You can't just jump into a ring with a few months training and pick this up, it takes years of practise.

Maybe a 12 round fight with 5 kicks allowed per round?
------------------------------------
But even if they do something like that then it still invalidates the contest as anything meaningful. Who wants to see a half-arsed kickboxing fight?
If Mayweather really wants to fight this kid (and I've got no idea why we he would want to) then it should be a kickboxing fight or nothing at all.
The rumours of Mayweather already being skint again after the McGregor fight sound like they might be true.
If Mayweather is as great as he says he is and the best ever then he should fight Canelo again in what could be billed as the rematch of the century etc and a huge moneymaker. Or fight Erroll Spence, the best welterweight out there.
Even a rematch with Pacquiao has way more validity than this nonsense though. Mayweather knows there's a very big chance he'll lose any of those three fights though which is why they won't happen.
Canelo is too big now. Maybe Errol Spence and Crawford but these guys are young and too dangerous for the now 41 Mayweather.

Canelo has yet to fight at 168. He's been fighting at 160 and as early as last year was fighting at 154 so fighting Mayweather at 154 or even at a 152 catch-weight like they did last time isn't out of the realm of possibility by any means. Especially for a super fight rematch.
As for Spence being the best welterweight that's just my opinion and one that many would agree with. Also think he'd beat Mayweather convincingly which is why that fight will definitely never happen either.
Askren Vs Lawler
Good first fight to introduce him I guess, feel bad for Lawler but at least it's a payday
and the mayweather fights off

Nah i think he was pretty honest with his assessment, wanted an easy payday in an exhibition, they wanted to sell it as a legitimate fight that should count on his record
