because every team that has ever won a trophy has used the 'strongest XI' every game on the way to winning it..

cmon we would get to the semi's against City or Arsenal and play our first team and still lose

Should we be afraid if we do well in this competition and go far, it could impact on the league and CL? Do we have the squad to have a successful League Cup campaign and get top 4? Each of our top 4 finishes under Poch so far have involved us getting dumped out of the LC early. If we were to win the thing, could we trust our players to not let the victory go to their heads?

Well he is a loser compared to a couple of teams in the league, but when compared to most teams, especially teams like West Ham he is an absolute winner. Stick to relegation battles mate, more your scene. A spanner trying to WUM Spurs is about as silly as it comes.

All top teams should be able to compete in more than one competition, Spurs should be absolutely no different. Losers mentality to think otherwise.

Sandy, you do know that the spammers have got a manager who has won the Premiership.

Don't get confused between a managers achievements and a clubs achievements as it makes you look foolish

We can compete on 2 fronts, at least the FA Cup and league. We've got to 2 semis of the FA Cup while getting top 4, but I think the timing of the FA Cup is a bit better because it happens at the business end of the season and concludes when the season concludes, whereas LC happens earlier on, and could be more of a psychological distraction. I'm just speculating though.

thats the dilemma for all teams apart from city because of the depth of their squad.

I would love my team to win a domestic cup, but at the same time if that effects having a good crack at the champs league and league then you have to prioritise.
I would like to think we will rotate a little tonight but go for it and the same in the FA cup and then if we progress strengthen the team as we get further into the competition depending on the opposition

I really feel like if Spurs won a trophy whether it was the League Cup or FA Cup then that would then give the players that hunger for more.

I'm not suggesting they aren't hungry for success but once they actually taste it only then will it enable them to go on to bigger things, That's just me.

Poch is missing a trick not taking these trophies seriously, Its the only thing people have held against him and Spurs could easily go on a cup run to the final.

I often see the debate would you rather a top 4 spot or an FA Cup and I'm sorry but I prefer the FA Cup all day long. I was born in 94 so it's not like I'm just an old fashioned fan who remembers when winning the Cup was like winning the league now.

If you're team is good enough then top 4 will take care of itself but there is only 4 trophies available each season and I'm over the moon when my club wins at least one of them.

yeah but just shows, he has spent 100+ million at west ham and will compete to stay in the division. It is about the players. Poch and Levy's stubbornness and inability to bring in quality players who can win trophies is costing spurs.

Its a good point Sandy tbf.

I was talking to edin about this. Utd are out and I think there are 5?? Other all Prem ties. If the draw opens up anyone could win it really.

I have to admit Spurs do like a semi fack up. Although to be fair most semi-finals they always seem to come up against a biggie.

odds are if you get that far you will be facing a biggie, Sandy. We beat Sheff Utd in the league cup semi in Poch's first season but ultimately come unstuck in the final against a biggie.

Sandy, no excuses mate. You can't claim spurs are this all conquering title challenging side capable of winning trophies, then make the "we have played a biggie" excuse when we get knocked out. You have to beat the best to win these competitions. All the big sides win trophies by beating the best. Just a shame Spurs don't have that ability and go missing when ever we get an opportunity.
