If Newcastle are struggling to score...must be an away banker surely?...😉

Hopefully Newcastle will win v Leicester tomorrow as I don't want to see Newcastle get relegated this season which is a massive possibility.

Which means they have been practicing
Their attacks down the wings targeting
Ricardo,Amartey,chilwell and pulling morgan
Or evens out of the middle,
Presumably what most coaches would target?
Wonder if there defenders have been practicing sprinting back from the half way line??

Considering their start their defence doesn’t seem to have done that bad, it’s scoring that’s their issue and Rondon is out now as well.

Crosses into the six yard box and shooting from twenty five yards out at the best keeper in the world this nothing but a wind up article expecting or even hoping for failure today.

Of course it is Nev, nothing to do with the concern that opposition Managers are openly mentioning our problems in defence due to poor tactics and team selection.

Yes, I expect failure today on recent form, I
Hope as others have suggested that Puel has learnt a few things recently but his team selection today will let us know whether that’s true or happenchance.

We've conceded the most goals in the Premier League in 2018.

We've also lost 5 in the last 6 away games.

Open secret in Football now about Leicester City and it's issues.

posted on 29/9/18

Ahh so you have come out then? this pretense of wanting Puel to succeed brushed aside.
As you like to live in the past it must of been a bit of an effort to include the figures from last season though.
Meanwhile here in the present day real world we have a better goal difference than Mank utd and sit just behind arsenal in seventh with a goal difference of +1 despite the conceding four in one match.
But that's just a happenchance i look forward to your gloating if we lose this afternoon.

Just because you're a hypocrite and use only the stats that suit your own Agenda in Nev's World doesn't change the FACTs as are being quoted by News Outlets.

"sit just behind arsenal in seventh"

Only in Nev's World we are!

posted on 29/9/18

Oh dear that's goal difference the being on +1 might of been the give away.
Needing to use last seasons figure added to this season to try and make a point massive fail. You following the news medias agenda now.

posted on 29/9/18

Haha, is the League table based on goal difference now?

"Needing to use last seasons figure added to this season to try and make a point massive fail. You following the news medias agenda now."

Said like a true Hypocrite and the Liar you are.

Is nev really trying to say some of our fans want us to lose so Puel fails?

It fits his agenda.

Nev, we’ve conceded 10 in 6 games and a lot have been individual defensive errors. Needing to tighten up from this perspective is pretty much a given surely?

But, God blimey, why again does it have to be viewed as a direct assault on Puel and having an ‘agenda’!
Just relax a bit, there are hundreds of comments and thousands of views away from JA606 where this sort of critique has been laid at the feet of the players not just Puel. It’s just an issue that is currently affecting our points tally directly so it’s bound to be discussed. To defend Puel, whilst there is some accountability in relation to this issue in terms of his probable instructions to Ricardo to play so high - that is no excuse for him not to track back; there is absolutely no way Puel would have told him not to.

In addition, there have been individual errors that are simply that and not directly as a result of Puel - particularly in relation to CM errors and players not tracking their runners (although as you’ve mentioned before Nev, some of this may be down to zonal marking but again, this is not a good enough excuse for some of the mistakes)

Re: Newcastle. I think they are pretty toothless and may sit back. So actually, this should be a game where Puel’s ethos of breaking teams down in their own half is really useful

So you seem like an intelligent chap or chapess KTF if you think this post is anything more than as dung would say "poking the bear" i miss judge you

KTF

If It’s Zonal marking, doesn’t that come from the tactics though?

Plus, I’d guesstimate a majority of goals conceded this Season have come from a Full back position, specifically the Right back position and one I’d expect Rafa to exploit today.

No Nev, it’s just you and your bitterness wanting to create division ALL the time.

Nev,

If you feel you are being agitated then it is perfectly normal to react...and actually, because of your particular way of debating and adament view, I think you get it in the neck sometimes. And sometimes a little too much.

But, if you want me to be completely honest, I think you have taken up this crusade to defend Puel’s name at all costs so it is a self-fulfilling prophecy that you will always feel any critique of him is a critism if you or some sort of incitement.

Sometimes though its just people putting across opinions, venting or wanting to encourage debate or even sometimes reassurance. It’s what we base civilised society on - philosophy and debate. It’s not always a precognitive attempt to wind you up.

Stand by your views, articulate them and try to persuade people why they are correct if you still feel that strongly AFTER reflecting on other people’s views - that is surely why we are all here.

I genuinely meant what I said about it being refreshing to hear your opinion yesterday.

Our centrebacks are pulled all over the place when the full backs bomb on and don’t get back in.

The protection from Ndidi and Mendy still makes us vulnerable from wide positions.

That’s what Newcastle will want to exploit and what Puel tactically needs an answer to. The players also need to work harder without the ball (especially Pereira as others have suggested).

posted on 29/9/18

So who goes RB and who goes in front of him?

KTF suggested that Newcastle might sit back, Even Rafa would get lynched in Toon Town if he did that against Leicester.

posted on 29/9/18

Yes True,

That’s why I countered with it against a positive about Puel. I think it’s a bit of both and whilst there is an argument for it being more one than the other, I think there are some mistakes that have simply been just down to the player.

I don’t know, Bournemouth aside, how many come from issues down the right to be honest. My immediate thoughts are that it’s perhaps not as much as we’d imagine. But it clearly has been an issue in some games but I expect Puel to continue to arrest that problem by sticking with Amartey

posted on 29/9/18

I think Newcastle will sit back involuntarily. They just aren’t that good going forward

posted on 29/9/18

Amartey right back and I think he may play Ghezzal in front. It wouldn’t completely surprise me if Pereira played there and I don’t actually, see any issues with him playing RW if Amartey plays his usual way from the perspective of being less pro active with how he gets forward
