Good to hear a different angle. I smoke it everyday if we’re putting cards on table. But the old slate/pollen not the green stuff. Which does stink. But that’s subjective. Although I don’t smoke the green stuff, I love the smell.
The medicinal purposes are crucial with cannabis. As you alluded to.
But putting that aside..
The alcohol consumption devastates the NHS year upon year in many forms.
Don’t see as many stoners beating their wives, crashing cars, fighting in the pub, generally abusing people.
And that’s the exponent.
Then you deal with the health problems of the alcoholics themselves.
You say alcohol is out of control and there’s no stopping it (which is pretty defeatist) but cannabis could dilute the alcoholic situation and slow down drinkers.
I would imagine it’s the lesser of the evils.
And then the tax and everything else.
More to say but I can’t be arszzed as I’ve just smoked one. Over to you.

This.
There is certainly an argument that it's a gate way drug.
But the thing is its readliy available and feeds a dangerous black market.
Legalization removes that black market to a large extent.
For me it's a no brainer. There's a stigma associated by many of the dopey stoner but realitybis millions of regular users actually are highly functional. Especially in my world of software development. I know full well enty of tje developers are baked all the time but the outputs are brilliant, many people can smoke and it helps them focus on a single task and stop outside distractions.
Id never smoke in work would be freaked out in the office but used to smoke it all night when i did shift work and was in an office alsone from 2230 to 7am. Got me through some awful boring night shifts
Yes, kneerash... saying that legalisation will mean that eveyrone is a dopey stoner, is only the same as saying that because alcohol is legal everyone would be going to work drunk which is clearly not the case. Most drug users use drugs responsibly as most people use alcohol responsibly.
And re smoking at work... I took ONE toke of an end when I left for work once one morning, just because it was there... thought I'd have a nice slightly mellow cruise to work with some tunes on, window open and the fresh air etc...and maybe be a little relaxed but no worse by the time I got to work... it must have just tipped me over though as I was facking wrecked... went to Sainsbury's and bought loads of munch to try and sober up and then couldn't look at my colleagues as I thought they all would now... I regretted that so badly never again
You will soon be able to buy cannabioid infused drinks, which will not have the thc part of the plant (the part which makes you high) in it ,conequently, no side effects !
You can buy CBD vapes on tinternet
I'm on a vape now to try get off them rotten smokes for good.
I use the tobacco flavour and put a small amount of cbd oil in with it. Its great and really working would recommend it to anyone trying to quit smoking
