Even Roman can’t afford 950k a week player
Everything is better in hindsight..except cases like Sanchez. Of course I really wanted him for us, him, and Hazard with Diego Costa (at the time he was linked) all on top of their game would be a legendary front three. While United doesn’t suit his game I don’t think anyone predicted he’d be this bad. And not only that, would I go back and take him even knowing how his time at United would turn out? Probably
It's basically another Torres situation. He was rapidly declining at Arsenal in his last six months (just like Torres at Liverpool) but people thought it was because he was unsettled instead of a decline.
Players who ain't that naturally gifted and rely on workrate and/or athleticism to get by usually have steep and ugly declines we saw it with both Torres and Essien and United are seeing it now with Sanchez.
I hope United drop stupid money on Bale, because he's next!!!
He'd thrive under the management of Sarri, Alexis enjoys the pressing from the front style and he would have been far better at our club, definitely an improvement of Morata and Giroud.
However he's near enough 30 and on the decline so probably a good thing we missed out
When he was at Arsenal, I used to compare him with Hazard but that argument is well and truly over.
Its a told you so monent, like how we saw issues with matic, arsenal fans saw with sanchez. In a season he had a record of 630 instances where he lost the ball and it was not the final season. He works as a big fish in a small pond like udinese and arsenal. Complete failure at Barca and United
Prime Sanchez would thrive, this version would probably only serve to replace Moses as 4th choice.
I really wanted him at Chelsea I have to admit. I haven't really been watching him at Utd this season but I wouldn't be surprised if he'll come good again as soon as he's playing under another manager.

I doubt it, when a player's finished he's finished, with the exception of Falcao no ex top player has declined so badly and recovered.
Maybe this situation popped up again: https://www.givemesport.com/524177-alexis-sanchez-underperformed-because-of-too-much-sex
soccer?lol.
I said several times that I just didn’t think he would sign for city.
Glad I was proved right.
