The rest seems to have done some good for 666. He's right about Bryson But Scotland's management haven't caught up yet. He's right about Lampard and his nous and contacts. But he's wrong about the need for players from within the city of Derby. It doesn't matter from whence they hail - but it does matter - in the long run on whose books lies their registration. And he's right about the fans' attitude towards our Mason (though he has helped considerably by his lack of consistency in recent games).
And if you want a slice of genuine wisdom - go to the Vidal post above
P.S. Did you notice? (I just gave seen it.) He just has to turn it into a personal attack on someone - In this case McLeish. Keogh must surely be to blame somehow as well.
That would only work if you could blame Keogh for not being Scottish - which would be stretching it a bit
He does have a mad stare, if you can get into the ROI squad for owning an Irish wolf hound that stare would suffice for Scotland 🏴
Igor - He has a mad stare, sure enough. But this does not detract from his football professionalism and commitment that a series of experienced managers have confirmed over the years. Not least Frank Lampard. I know nothing about his dog ownership.
I see Kieron Freeman has been called up for Wales, either they're desperate or he's improved a lot since he was here, easily one of the worst players I've seen in a Derby shirt.
I have a feeling freeman played a few times for Wales u21’s when he was at Derby.
Watching the England u21’s last night and it amazes me how Mount has been selected for the full England squad ahead of both Tom Davies and Phil Foden who are both playing in the prem but haven’t been selected for the England squad. Davies has played a lot of games at Everton and even been captain. I’d be abit miffed if I was him if a lad playing in the 2nd division with no premier league experience was pick ahead of me.

Previously Lampard said that we are “part of Mason Mount’s journey” and that’s the way it is these days. Even a player signed “permanently” often doesn’t stay all that long at any one club. Probably we are part of Lampard’s journey too. It doesn’t mean they don’t give their all while at Derby. I’m wistful for the days when the likes of Roy Mac spent pretty much his whole career with one club but that’s not the way it is now. Mounts attitude seems excellent and we should be proud to see such a talent in our shirt.

Ben Osborn just passed 200 games for us, and is setting his sights on another 200
Matty Cash just passed 50 games...
Not so wistful if they are good enough
Bunk
Surely, if they were “good enough” they would not now be playing for Forest.
That's right. They would have moved on to something better.

Maybe Mansfield didn't want them.
Well the facts are they both played significant role for a team above Derby in the league after 12 games, and have the pleasure of playing in front of more people, so they can’t be all that bad
For how many of Ben Osborn's 200 plus games have Forest been above Derby in the League, I wonder? Is this the one and only time? And over his time at Forest I think you will find that far more supporters have watched Derby than have watched Forest. But then you knew that really, didn't you Bunk? As you also know that if he was any good then a Premiership club would have bought him long before now.
I like Ben Osborn - he's a Derby lad, Spondon born and bred. He was - and I say was - desperate to play for Derby but quite sensibly realised that if he wanted to play football at a certain level he would have to take second best.
Oh Spondon! stern and wild.
Breathes there the man, with soul so dead,
Who never to himself hath said
This is my own, my native land!
Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.
Good to see our man Keogh captaining ROI
Last time they played Denmark without Keogh and lost 5 1.

How many of those games was he surrounded by players who weren’t good enough?
He is not a whole team by himself, but when we have a decent team he still features.
The comment was it’s wistful thinking that a local lad can break into first team and play a number of games. For a top half championship club, Osborn and Cash are proving that it is possible
I agree Osborn has done well for a local lad. A lot of the local lads coming through at forest is down to how McParland and Lester ran the academy.
Don’t think Cash is local or from forests academy tho’ I believe they signed him as a 17 year old from Wycombe
No, that wasn't the comment Bunk. Roy McFarland was not a local lad. The comment was about how rare it is now for any player to spend virtually his entire career at a single club. The workforce at any club therefore tends to be transient and as a fan it's perhaps hard to have the same bond with a player as used to occur when such things were commonplace. I don't think that it means that players are any less motivated though. Just because a player has a fixed period of employment doesn't mean he won't do his best. As a fan I like it when players stick around but if the club stays at Championship level it means that those players are by definition not good enough for the Premiership. I would class Bryson and Keogh as examples of good Championship players but who would not be likely to be good enough beyond that. Osborn is a player I like but falls into the same category.
God knows but he prefers to wait.
"I include in that umpteen goals from Marriott and his finding his feet in the Championship"
What's the diagnosis of a striker who can't find his feet Vidal?
Karl Could be:
1) Grossly overweight.
2) Has severe Alzheimers
3) Amputated
All tend to reduce their effectivity.
