na he's been good on the whole, a few good games, and a great performance against southampton. After his injury issues, 2 games in over a year, he's been impressive.

didn't realise he'd played a part in 11 games though so far.

Barkley's had 1 good game for us against Southampton, wouldn't get too carried away with him. He's useful vs the lesser teams as Kovacic is better defensively.

well that's bollox. Seems to be a rising issue with our fanbase on here where they overplay barkleys mistakes or weaknesses and downplay his strengths and performances.

He's been solid for us this year, had 1 or 2 good games, and 1 great game against southampton.
He won the header for the equaliser against liverpool and played a part in the goal against vidi.

He's not pulling up trees, but he's not had just 1 good game.

Had minutes on the pitch in almost every game and thus far is playing better than Pogba let alone Matic. Doesn't mean he's playing brilliantly, just better than Pogba

I could've simply said Jorginho is 10x the player Matic has every been but it seemed a bit obvious, thought I'd go in a different direction.

No, but from hardly playing at Madrid and coming to a new country/league he's been excellent. His passing and close control is brilliant. Great link-up play with Hazard and far better defensively compared to Barkley.

Agree that Kovacic needs to work on his shooting which is where he's let himself down.

Take out the Southampton game, Barkley hasn't done anything in the league games.

Btw, I'm not saying Barkley is a bad player, he'll improve if he can stay fit and can be very useful for us as he offers that goal threat from midfield which none of the other guys can do.

In the league which is the important competition for us at the moment, Kovacic has started 5, Barkley 3.

Barkley started the first 2 league games because Kovacic barely had any preseason and Croatia got to the final. Also Barkley had a full pre-season so was in better shape

I like both, just seems your raving about kovacic and dismissing barkley when both have been solid, and kovacic has played more than barkley the last 18 months, so thats a moot point.

I think kovacic is the better player, but people are going out of there way to criticise barkley by saying the below:

We are top of the league unbeaten in all competitions, barkley has been an integral part of that.
Lots of moments, such as the flick against huddersfield for the pen to put the game to bed.

I like Barkley and Jorginho but we also need to play RLC at times to make an impact in matches.BTW I liked his performance v Vidi and reckon he can do a good job at least as a substitute in matches especially against thecteams in lower half of the table.

exatly, like I say sheriff he isn't blowing teams away single handedly but it seems some of our fan base praise him through gritted teeth.

I'd like Barkley to be shooting more...he's decent at 25 yards

Welbeck gets a call up every time, so being called up for England doesn't mean much.

That may not have been a bad idea as back up for morata lol.

Falcao actually recovered from his injury's to hit form. You can't blame the club because the risk would have been insane but activating his buy clause would have actually been a good move
