Never got Rush. Then again, very very very few prog rock I enjoy at all.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Strange, I never considered them a 'Progressive' Rock band at all, more a heavy rock band in the mold of UFO, Zeppelin etc.

To me the progressive rock bands were the ones such as ELP, Yes or Genesis (although they morphed into a more mainstream type band later in their development) which I wasn't keen on either!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Rush became increasingly influenced by bands of the British progressive rock movement of the mid-1970s, especially Genesis, Yes, and Jethro Tull. In the tradition of progressive rock, Rush wrote extended songs with irregular and shifting time signatures, combined with fantasy and science fiction-themed lyrics.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

To me a Progressive rock band was one that relied heavily on keyboard based systems and Synthesisers.

Rush were a three piece rock band with just a Guitarist, Bass and Drummer and didn't fit the stereotype of a progressive rock band to me.

I'm not sure that sci fi fits in with with the progressive sterotype either, Iron Maidens lyrics, you could argue were heavily based on devil type science fiction but I doubt any one could make an argument for them being progressive.

Suprised you classed Jethro Tull as progressive as well, I'd have said they were the antithesis of progressive!!

Missed this last week....

I have to admit Rush passed my by back in the day, when I was in the RAF a lad opposite me in our block used to play 2112 a lot, & I guess I heard it by osmosis

When Spirit of Radio came out in the charts, (their only real foray into commercial charts) I loved it, & bought the Permanent waves album

Also had a track called the Trees on a rock compilation album, this track is very Pro canadian/anti British right up until the end of the track

Went to Cape Verde about 8 years ago - got talking to a guy at the bar who was a massive rush fan...

I researched Rush more when I got home, to see what they were about, who was in the band what they looked like etc.....as it turned out & little did I realise, the guy from holiday was an absolute spitting image of Geddy Lee, hair glasses the lot

One of my favourite bands now along with Led Zep & Pink Floyd

15 points from our last 14 games appears to be telling more of the truth than the 26 points that we took from the first 12 games.

We have had some rotten luck this season though with injuries and VAR

The Kante injury looks serious and i don;t think we hve a prayer of finishing top 4 without him

Dreadful game done by injuries done by var... And frankly not good enough

A poor performance no doubt – however I still feel a bit seen off tonight from both officials and lady luck!

It started before the game with our only regular goal scorer not starting.

Kante going off after 10 minutes.

Willy getting booked for being obviously fouled on the edge of the area.

McGuire surviving a Red

Yoonited’s first goal against a concussed Christensen after wiping him out.

Losing Christensen to aforementioned concussion.

Apparently it’s ok for Fred to push Dave but not for Dave to push a Yoonited player.

VAR, was it really bought in bought in to decide if some one’s big toe is offside? I thought it was for clear and obvious errors!

Nothing went for us tonight!

Nope...about sums it up...

Thought Pedro was decent last night...but ultimately he's below what we need now...this sums us up too

Bats needs to spend less time at the fackin hairdressers & more time practicing shooting too...& preferably somewhere else

I thought pedro was great lastnight, but a perfromance like that from him is 1 in 5 at best.

I think that quite a few will see the open door at the end of this season !

Summed up well Brum. A shlt show of circumstances and poor decisions against us. That's not to say that we weren't a bit crap as well.

It's unusual to have so much go against us in one game. We haven't had much go our way this season. Lamps need to touch the blarney stone or something to get some luck.
