Am tempted by the Radisson Blue of course.
Try this Harle, we stayed there a couple of years ago, it was decent enough. The Radisson nearby is mustard also with a big fish tank bar.

I have slept at a friend and with a friend in Berlin, or did Airbnb when it was still affordable. No clue about hotels, but I would assume with German Gründlichkeit, you cant go wrong.

They play The Big Lebowski on loop in the corridors.
The breakfast is a bit hipster, but the bar is cool as and they make a decent cocktail there too.

Got friends in Berlin so been several times and stayed at the Radisson Blue a couple of time. Nice, well located and not horribly priced.
Most recently we've airbnb'ed it and found some great places.
Park Inn in Alexanderplatz is a decent business/tourist type of hotel. Very comfortable, if you like that Radisson Blu kinda thing (personally I find them much of a muchness).
On a different note, Kreutzberg is a good area to visit for bars and restaurants. Bit artsy, but with a good vibe.
Many thanks guys ,am wading through all the
info, will have to wait for the wifes choice .
Check Kreuzberg out if you want somewhere interesting, lively and wont break the bank.
Out of interest harle, have you tried booking through a cash back site?
I use quidco to book all my hotels for work and have earned over £600 in cashback in almost 2 years!
