The Guardian review states that you spend 60% of your time doing very little and just riding about etc.

I think this is a game for those with plenty of time to devote to it. It's not for folk who have the odd half hour here and there and maybe a long session playing every few weeks.

From what I've read you can kind of get involved in as much or as little 'action' as you please during each game session you may play.

Do Rockstar decide who gets the copies of the games early to review them?

If so surely they'd only give them to reviewers they have previous decent relations with? Do reviewers get worried that bad reviews will restrict their chances of future early releases etc?

In this case I imagine the pre-orders and most fans will be buying the game regardless of reviews anyway as it's been so long since the last.

I'm not sure but I can't imagine they get to pick or else every company would only send it to reviewers who they like surely?

Currently has 97/100 on metacritic after 63 reviews. That's insane.

There was a famous case with the Editorial Director at GameSpot getting fired because he gave Kane & Lynch (which sucked) 6/10 after it's developer, Eidos, had been spending $$$ advertising on their site.

A few years ago, it was confirmed that he was fired as a result of pressure from Eidos threatening to pull their advertising funding, which sort of explains why high-profile sites like IGN never do anything out of the ordinary and clearly give some VERY questionable facetime to completely meaningless stories if they have anything to do with a game/studio/film they are receiving a good bit of funding from.

I really enjoyed it. Absolutely massive game world. Didn’t have any frustration with the grind as I was enjoying the side quests. Levelled up naturally throughout the game

IGN @IGN
"Red Dead Redemption 2 stands shoulder-to-shoulder with Grand Theft Auto V as one of the greatest games of the modern age."

I enjoyed San Andreas so much more than GTA V, I'd even argue GTA 4 was more enjoyable as well. No idea how V is one of the greatest modern games imo.

SAN Andreas isn’t very modern now though, must be over 10 years old.

And GTA V was for me, 100 x the game GTA 4 was. Infact isn’t 4 considered the worst of the 3d games?

Pretty much this. I dont want to sound harsh but if you felt 4 was more fun than V i would say you have a warped sense of fun. As Nick said V is far better than 4 in every sense

I enjoyed Nikolai and the Russian mafia they had going on. I also felt it was more challenging storyline wise. And I enjoyed the online gameplay more.

Considered one of the most significant titles of the seventh generation of video games, and by many critics as one of the greatest video games of all time, it won year-end accolades, including Game of the Year awards from several gaming publications.

Got this off Wiki, don’t think it was all bad if it’s getting these opinions.

Tommy noone said it was bad - its the worst GTA game, which still prob makes it better than the vast majority of other games, however V is head and tails above it in every aspect - including the phone system........because seriously I wish I could kill my cousin

If I’m not mistaken GTA IV introduced hot wiring cars as well, that’s the best thing invented on video games

What do you mean? Couldn't you do that in all the games? I played hours of 4 and never specifically remember anything special......

posted on 25/10/18

Ok watched some videos and even now can't say I remember it but it was a long time ago

I don’t remember having the option to hot wire cars inn San Andreas or Vice City

Tbh, that was exactly my situation when the first one came out and I found it completely suited that kind of playing. It’s the type of game you could dip in and out of and play any time.

Just got it now from Sainsbury's. Paid for standard version but the bird behind the kiosk handed me the Special Edition. I wasn't waiting around to point out her mistake. Cheers idiot 😂😂😂
