Leno or Cech??

Leno.

Cech was actually quite good this season. As you say, however, he struggled with the style of play.

Leno has a clanger in him, though.

I don't see this as close, Cech is past it. I thought Leno should have saved the Leicester deflected goal but other than that he has been excellent since Cech got injured.

Very harsh, back4. Massive deflection, Leno was already committed to the cross

You can say the same with every keeper on earth, it’s a difficult job to be a keeper but, I rate Leno better than that drunk Spurs keeper or the expensive Brazzillian ponester up north.

Wasn't really a massive deflection. Over committed himself far too early in my opinion to the anticipated cross.

What? It completely changed the direction of the ball.

It certainly changed the direction. Not that massively. Considering Bellerin's block was pretty instantaneous just as Chilwell crossed the ball, Leno was a tad too far from his near post.

Cech deserves a lot of credit for his displays earlier in the season. Till he got injured, I'd say he was our best player since the start of the season.

Leno does look more comfortable with the ball at his feet that Cech. But he gives me Chesney vibes dwelling on the ball at times, looking like he has mistakes in him.

To be fair to back 4, Leno need to time when to come for crosses, he was lucky when the ball hit the bar while he looked like a penguin out of the ice.

Harsh criticising Leno for their goal. The deflection completely changed the direction of the ball.

Leno doesn't give me the Szczesny vibes tbf (although it's still early I guess ). Shez would dwell and wait to be closed down by an opposition player then try to beat them with a bit of skill. Leno for the most part tries to get rid early with a neat pass or just clears it.

Agree Leno looks like has a changer in him though, mostly at set plays. Hopefully he can improve that.

Leno all day long and I've only seen him play twice.Just looked so assured. You just get that feeling when you watch him he could become world class (in my opinion)

Cech was probably our best player before he got injured.

Will be interesting to see what Emery does when Cech is fully fit

Leno looks better overall. Cech still has looked be improved this year. But Cech is better commanding the box, catching high balls etc. Feel Leno could flap at a few and cause a goal, needs to improve in that area.

What i like about Leno is that is he needs to kick it long he will do just that.

The feeling i got with Cech was the kicking it long was not an option and that he had to play it short every time which is why he looked like a fish out of water when he was closed down.

Agree. For now I would rather stick with Cech. He has made some fantastic saves this season.

He has also put us in trouble a lot of times. Leno has made a lot of very good saves as well (from Deeney, Maguire etc) but looks far, far more comfortable with our style of play.

Is Cech in the last year of his deal? If so, there's been no talk of us trying to extend it which means he's most likely leaving.

The injury came at a really delicate time for him. With Leno giving us such a big benefit in terms of playing out from the back, plus making good saves, it doesn't make sense to drop him for Cech unless there's a real downturn in his performances.

Leno reminds me Jens Lehmann. Able to sweep behind our CBs, allowing them to push up like we used to with Sol and Kolo. Essential for a team that passes out of the back.

I would keep Leno for now. A bit worrying how he turned his back when he thought he was getting thumped by their forward but he has made some very good saves as well . Cech is a bit slow getting down to low shots and he's not going to get any quicker.
