I can't cheer for Spurs. I actually would be happy with a top 4 finish (in spite of how promising our start has been) - I just don't want to get ahead of ourselves. We were second behind Man City at Christmas last year - let's consolidate and finish in the top 4 this season.

Could be another Conte season for Chelsea, more than capable of going on a massive run. Keep looking like you're growing in confidence and smashed a Burnley team away without Hazard.

That pitch is a joke

Feck that, would rather aim for the top and finish 5th than settle for top 4.

You see it with Arsenal and even United, once you get into the top four will do habit and start viewing it as a trophy almost, it's hard to break out from it.

I take your point. And I'm not suggesting that we settle for 4th as an ongoing trophy - I just think it would better for my heart if the chasing teams started to drop points.

Fair enough.

Don't get me wrong it would be decent consolation if City win (that we create breathing space in the top 4) but ultimately i will always want games to go the way of what benefits our title bid, even if it's a longish shot.

Why- that doesn't make logical sense!

City will win the league, the more they can damage teams we will be competing for 3rd n 4th places against, the better!

Two season's ago almost every Chelsea fan and pundit thought we had a cat in hells chance of topping the two Manc clubs but we did it with ease.

I know it's a long shot but i'd rather we got burned trying, if we settle for top 4 even for one season it will quickly become the subconscious mentality around the club, ask Arsenal and to an extent United!

This season is likely to be as tight as we've know in recent years, with 5 clubs likely on current form to be fighting for four places.

We missed out on CL last year and don't want to risk not qualifying next.

We don't have the fire power to compete with City. If we win the title all the better but I'm a realist.

If City can take points off the likes of $purs, so much the better as far as I'm concerned.

That was the sort of match that would drive me mad as a Spurs fan. Without Ali, Eriksen and Kane having an off game just look at how toothless they are - the original Bakayoko was their most dangerous player

Was another one of those matches that showed how close they should be yet how far away they are from challenging for trophies.
