Nothing wrong with wonning games playing badly.
Wouldnt worry too much.
Outside of Man City, the likes of us (Liverpool), Arsenal, Spurs, and United will be dropping points as the season goes on, so make hay while the sun shines, and youll no doubt be right in the mix for top 4 come the end of the season.

We’ve been playing really well biggish. Against palace and Burnley we were very good and great. Non article for me mate.

Bate aside where it looked like we didn’t want to be there we’ve dominated every game(still dominate bare but they had better chances)

It’s not Asif we are getting battered by teams like Utd at juve

Sign of a good team so they say Biggish!

I understand Biggish's point, as much as we've been playing well, we've also had some hairy moments at the back,it could well happen that someone will get It right and give us a real tanking.
For now,we must just sit back and enjoy it ,and hope our nerve and luck holds.
I am very 'appy with what Sarri has done so far,and long may it continue.

United we didn't but Palace we were solid but not spectacular.

The crap performances with mainly the 2nd string is to be expected, they're second string for a reason.

I actually think it's great that the so called 1st string have adapted so well to Sarri's system, without yet fully integrating the so called 2nd.

That I would have thought will take a little longer!

I'm quite happy with Maurizio's 1st mid term report!

I agree 100% with that Brummie but I am just putting out a warning shot that there are a few signs that we may hit a rough patch.

I think we had 4 first teamers on vs Derby and 3 last night, that's less than a 3rd and when you consider the main cause of our struggles vs Derby especially was because our CB's were struggling playing out (which isn't a problem with Rudi and Luiz) i don't think we can put too much on it.

That said im not rulling out a bad patch, when you are adapting to a new brand of football that sometimes can happen at the most random times, it did with Pep and City in season one.

Sarris system is so intense and regulated that he will have a relatively small number of players he work with in training.

those he feels are peripheral will not be included too much so is self-fulfilling prophecy that these players, when actually give a game, do not do so good becuse they are not as familiar with the munutae

Is that what they call donkey science?

Agree Biggish we need to up our game. Some really poor performances of late. Really poor against BATE, Derby destroyed us, We were ok against CP and against United I felt we were too relaxed especially after taking the lead.

Got to say our performance against Burnley which was in the middle of those fixtures was our best performance this season.

The Bate game was awful and we could've lost that 4-1...the others I thought were fine...in fact games we lost last year...now they WERE bad

Agree with this . Sarri talks %s . He's 'appy with the first or last 70 minutes. I think for the best parts of matches played we pretty decently. There are always moments when when it looks dangerous for us. The opposition in most cases failed to capitalise on mistakes and that's why we are where we are. As to luck, we know it balances out so when we receive it, it's thoroughly deserved.

on his form in general this term you've probably answered your own question there...he is improving though

When I read the title, my initial thoughts were “ this is too dramatic to be a footy related article, but interesting nonetheless”

Yeah we rode our luck at times, but also unlucky at other times. With the regard to the results business so far, it’s way better than I initially anticipated, but not entirely satisfied with some of our performances. As Brummie mentioned earlier, we are in transition of changing our style of play, Sarri deserves a lot of credit in convincing this group of players to buy into his philosophy so quickly. My only criticism of him is his reluctance to use our young players, but that criticism can be levied at most of our previous managers.

A rocky patch could be on the horizon, the tempo of our passing game has slowed down making us a little bit more predictable with the ball, and with our issues in defense teams will begin to feel like they have a chance against us - particularly on that left side that's just begging to be exploited every game.

Bigger picture it's obviously not a problem, I still have to remind myself this is a team built off Mourinho & Conte's coaching watching it (can't believe we adapted so quickly), but I agree the warning signs are there.

This would be the perfect time for Morata to prove us all wrong cos we may have to rely on him poaching goals (as he did against Palace) to pull through in the coming months.
