what klopp has done for shaquiri
------
I know this is a question for Chelsea fans but if you don't mind the view if an outsider...
I think Arnautovic's attitude would be a real cause for concern at a big club. There's an arrogance there that obviously helps fuel his performances, watch him when players don't give him the ball he wants or pass to another player - there's a visible irritation and sometime verbals. Now that's fine when you're the big man in the team, the focal point and, arguably, the best player. That simply wouldn't be the case at Chelsea.
At a club like Chelsea he'd be just another player, probably one that's rotated and would spend time on the bench. He might adapt well to that but I'd have my doubts.
He'd also be 30 next summer so not exactly one for the future.
Honestly I think he can do better than West Ham but probably not as well as Chelsea. You're a club looking for 3rd or higher in the league and to push on and challenge for the big prizes. Would Arnautovic bridge the gap to City? I don't think so. I think Chelsea can do better.
I’d take him. Send Giroooo the other way.
Yeah would love him up top
Arnautovic is definitely worth a punt. He's a better player than he's given credit for. Unfortunately dealing with the pourn barons and her with a face like a bulldog chewing a wasp is going to be ball breaking.
Sounds like he's been tapped with the noises he's making so could make it a little less painful especially if he kicks off more vociferously demanding a move.
I also fancy Miitrovic. His goals have dried up but he is a good forward with a physical threat. Something we've missed since effing up with Diego
Accepting mediocrity that's what signing Arnautovic would be. No better than Giroud or Morata. ill-suited to anything Sarri is trying to achieve.
Definitely not worth a punt at 30, on multiple-year deal (that's what he'd want but club would never offer any more than one-year conttact anyway) and excessive wages.
Obviously cmf disagrees with the consensus lol
On a short term deal as a squad player (for cheap) he makes sense I guess. But it’s hardly an inspired signing, more something we’d be making out of convenience (eg. If Giroud goes in summer and Marko and his agent push for a move to drive his price down).
Arnautovic no thanks hes a poormans Ibrahimovic. If we are looking to recruit in the PL id say Yes please to Mitrovic hes very much a player in the Drogba Costa player moulds.
Mitrovic not sure why so many are so fond of him
Nah we got Batshuayi coming back to set the league alight
soccer?lol.
Type of ego experienced (slow) archetypal targetman Mourinho would love to sign. Right up his street for his outdated football.
Arnautovic is slow? Or mitrovic?

Was accepting mediocrity what Liverpool were doing getting Shaqiri?
Not that Marco is my first option.
Shaqiri was a low risk (at £13m), high reward signing bought as a squad player.
He's the right age, where he can potentially improve a lot and somewhat fits Klopp's style.
No comparison with Arnuatovic.
Bang average player, got no idea what people see in him. Find it very ironic that he was touted as the next Ibrahimovic from a young age, he's got the arrogance and the laziness down great, just lacks any of the skill
I'd rather take the enormous risk on Piatek than go anywhere near Arnautovic, can't see any scenario where we'd wind up thinking it was a good deal in the long run.

The way I see it, is would I chose him in an ideal world - probably not.
That said do I see him as a better option than Giroud and Morata - absolutely!
We can do much better than Arnautovic but he can be a good short-term signing.
People saying we can do better then him but name the players and make sure we can get them realistically. I think we are shopping at a lower level than we've been used to. No more big buys. We're spending 30m 40m not 70m 80m 100m. Morata was a one off gamble and it dont look like a good one
Yeah Bov that is what makes me sad.I am not saying that we go on a big spending spree.I still think we can still sign one decent forward but we don't tend to sign them.
People will do well to remember Chelsea players being coached by Sarri (different style & philosophy), not Conte or Mourinho when considering/advocating such utterly unsuitable average signings.
Also worth remembering in the previous window...club had spent more or less £50m+ on Jorginho & £71m on Kepa (Goalkeeper world record fee). 'No more big buys'.
My final contribution.
Kepa fee forced by Courtois messing the club about.
Jorginho is not at the top end by any means.
What I find perculiar CMF is that you don't give a name of a player Chelsea should buy.
Your comment on Arnautovic being no better than Morata and Giroud I disagree with. I would wager he would put away the clear cut chances Morata misses particularly one on ones with the keeper.
