Bit of a different debate, for example neither of you saw Osgood in his prime.
Let's just honour what Didier did for us without comparisons!

That was the thought heading into the end of the USL (second tier American league) but then he posted a somewhat cryptic message after the final. Anyway, cheers to the big man. Grateful for all he's done and the chance to watch him play.
soccer?lol.
Can't compare Osgood to Lampard and Drogba. Chelsea greatest ever player has to come from the the 04-12 era because that's the greatest era in the club's history and that's when the best players who've played for the club played.
No Erik you are completely wrong.Osgood did what was not done by anybody else in Chelsea history-being the top goalscorer in our glorious club's colourful history.I say this despite me being a massive Frank Lampard and Didier Drogba fan.
I agree with BrummieBlue here. Also,I think no player in the future will score as many goals as Peter Osgood scored for Chelsea.

Most clutch or big game player I’ve ever seen though. And the most unplayable player I’ve seen in the league maybe bar Henry. Just a different animal when he wanted to be. And provided me with the best night of my life
Judging Drogba only on the goals scored couldn't be more of a mistake. I have not seen any striker put fear into CBs like Drogba did bar Shearer. He used to soften up the back line of opponents during games allowing team mates to benefit. I didn't see much of Osgood as I was born in 62, but Drogba is the best Chelsea striker I have seen when I was old enough to judge.
One of my favourite players, absolute nightmare for defenders to handle.
We miss you Didier, hope to see you back at the Bridge maybe in some management role or perhaps as a strikers coach helping the likes of Morata!
Yes, that goal in Munich will always bring happiness to my heart, although I swallowed a bit when he gave that pen away ! and then, scored the winning penalty , glory glory didier Drogba.
Lol gave away a pen in the semi and the final the donut!
Never a dull moment with old didier

What? I thought Frank Lampard was Chelsea's top goalscorer.
Such a big player for Chelsea, came up with decisive goals. What a career for someone who started playing top flight footy at the age of 23. But, most importantly, an influential person and a good role model in his own homeland, involved in raising so many charities. Top bloke.
All the best in your next chapter Didier
What a player, I always liked watching him play, in spite of his theatrics.
Great big game player and totally get why Chelsea adore him but as an Arsenal fan, I can't stand him. Yeah I know he used to completely bully the likes of Senderos when you played us but so has Rooney who I quietly admire.
Nah the reason I can't abide Drogba is the diving. Loads of players take a tumble Michael Owen and Ashley Young being notable offenders but Drogba was something else. He was a man mountain of a player and used to feign injury and wave imaginary cards at the slightest contact. I used to find it cringey and marred what for me would give him legendary status not only at Chelsea but across the game.
Sorry but that's just an outsider's view.
Great player, but still over rated. Not prolific enough to warrant the hype.
As for his greasy barnet......
