Need government approval first, but yes I agree.
There's enough people in OT who want to sing to make it work, it's just they're dotted around the stadium. Every time I've applied for the trialled singing sections I've been unsuccessful.

I applied and failed myself. It's because J stand is full of peeps who've been sitting their forever, and they were given first refusal. A good chunk of them didn't give up their seats, to the singing section is patchy at best. I used to sit right next to it and a lot of the people in amongst it wouldn't/don't actually sing.
Also plans at introducing more/lowering the cost of youth tickets in the Stretford End.
One wonders if that is in response to some analysis showing kids that have grown up with Man City being successful are choosing City as their club.
I've some news for the club. 10 year old version of me wouldn't care what ticket prices were if the choice was watching City or Mourinho's teams.
Giving the fans something to shout about would help too. I know the team needs the crowd sometimes but the crowd needs the team to get us off our seats too.

The Brighton game in the FA Cup they were brilliant, but that was a one off game for applicants where the away fans usually sit.
Very few at Old Trafford who sing knows any of the songs. Apart from My Old Man.

This is an obvious issue too.
The other issue is the age and length of time people have been going.
If you've had a season ticket for 20 years I wouldn't expect you to be fussed about signing at home vs the smaller sides.
they should stick the away fans in tier 3 of the Fergie and make the Scoreboard Paddock area of the ground the singing section. Do it now for next season so those who want to sing apply now for season tickets.

Didn't mean to be Captain Obvious here!
There are issues with the atmosphere and it wasn't always great when we were winning all the time either to be fair (perhaps we got complacent?).
Perhaps safe standing would be an option as well? I suppose another issue is that you have a substantial number at games that aren't there every game so that perhaps dilutes the potential for a cracking atmosphere too (that's the price of success though).
Funnily enough the best I can remember in recent times is in the 2006/07 season when we'd gone 4 years without the title. Think being starved of the title for a while really helped the crowd get the team over the line that year. Obviously our good start helped too that year.
In the good old days every area of the ground was a singing section.
Stretford End, Scoreboard End, Stretford and Scoreboard Paddocks, United Road corner and even Stand K in the end.
Have they trialed the idea of playing better football...?
Not certain but it could help.

Your atmosphere has been pretty poor then since 1990.

There are a bunch of utter cretins who keep singing 'Jose Mourinho'.

It might certainly help. That said even under SAF it could be quiet depending on who we were playing.
Have they tried taking a bulldozer to the stadium? Could build a morgue atop it and get better atmosphere.
