"...it cost Ramsey a year of his career.'"

And the rest, it took him years to really get back on track. Long after he was running around again did he actually get his confidence back, you could see it.

Sensible comment, half the United board were calling Shaw sheite after he almost lost his leg after a horrific leg break.

Guardiola is making Ferguson’s tenure look very basic.
—————

Absolutely he is. Ferguson with his budget and superior players over the years failed to deliver a brand of football to light up the game.

Against Arsenal he would wheel out the likes of Park, Fletcher, P. Neville and Anderson to break up play.

He did not bring players on to the level of Guardiola. And no the Class of whenever were playing against Darius Vassell, Vinnie Jones and Nick Bendtner.

Wenger and Guardiola are the two managers to date who as Muhammad Ali said “Shook up the world”

Shook up the world by losing to teams made up of players like Park, Fletcher, P. Neville and Anderson?

Pulis wasn't the only one. The thought process was to kick Arsenal out of games, even Fergie resorted to it.
The refs are heavily culpable here, they let so much go and then would bring a red out for any sign of Arsenal retaliation.
After the invincibles season it reached a peak.

So glad we have players like Sokratis, Lichtsteiner and Torreira who will stand up redress the balance.

Agree about the refs, once they see that the likes of Reyes and Fabregas are being targeted they should have been dishing out yellow cards to calm things down a bit.

But, the Arsenal-United games in the late 80s through to the mid-00s often spilled over with both teams overstepping the mark at times, around 05/06 Arsenal became, well, "soft" tbh and United continued the physical aspect of the rivalry up to the point where we could contain Arsenal without the rough stuff.

Just on the Shawcross - Ramsey thing, it went far beyond just being "physical", Shawcross was out of control and about 10-15 minutes prior to his challenge on Ramsey he flew in on Samir Nasri in a similar way, sprinting from a distance, flying in but Nasri saw it coming and jumped out of the way. It was a really, really poor challenge from Shawcross.

Then we have Campbell deliberately elbowing Solskjaer square in the face

How Wenger even dared moan about teams roughing his own up beggars belief
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Absolute nonsense, he should never have been sent off. Solskjaer cheated, put his hands to his face to pretend he's been elbowed in the face when in fact the arm & elbow struck him across his chest and not even hard:

Yep, looks worse every time you see it, clear elbow to the face

clearly conning the ref, you must be blind

This San Miguel guy is deluded. Didn't Roy Keane set out to intentionally injure a player and end his career and was proud of it? Aalf Haaland I believe it is. It was apparently revenge for a tackle Haaland made 3 and half years prior but still that was disgraceful behaviour.
