What a player MGW looks. I apologise to Nuno for having my doubts about his tactical rigidity. He changed it tonight and got it spot on. Hopefully goes with the same team (perhaps brings in Neves for one of Saiss or Moutinho) this weekend.

Good to see Jota looking back at his best and getting on the scoresheet. Dendoncker looked strong and decent on the ball in his cameo too.

Difficult one for Nuno, Neves will return, Saiss or Moutinho? Both had a good game.

Only saw 42 minutes of this match but thought MGW was excellent

I definitely wouldn’t bring Neves in for MGW. It would be for Saiss or Moutinho.

MGW has done more than enough to deserve a run in the side.

I thought we looked more balanced tonight in that formation with two forwards and an advanced midfielder. I always think Jota gives us a better balance though, even if he plays badly.

Yeah be interesting to see what happens with Neves coming back. Have said lately we need a 'destroyer' in midfield alongside one of Neves or Moutinho but perhaps that can change with the opposition and Neves and Moutinho with MGW will work against 'lesser' opposition.

Was clear Jota needed a breather and time to get his head together after struggling big time and i think Costa needs a break now as well, he was hopeless when he came on

Would like to see us keep this formation for a few weeks now to let it settle in and it is easily switched to 3-4-3 if we need it in the second half chasing.

Dare i say hats of to DJ for pushing this formation, perhaps Nuno read his comments

I don’t think Costa was hopeless, but I do think he is low on confidence and doesn’t seem to get much luck. A number of times he beats his man only for a slight bad touch to run it out of play or to make the decision slightly too late. Earlier in the season he was creating chances but nothing seemed to come of them. He needs a spell on the bench and with some cameo appearances whilst he gets his mojo back.

That said, I think Jota and Jiminez are our best attackers and I like the idea of MGW playing in an advanced midfield position with the two forwards pulling wide when they need to, creating that space through the centre.

Where was Neves tonight?
