Harsh reality, love Sarri interviews, he's completely honesty and says it how it is.

I can't stand managers who insult our intelligence with deluded claims that the cra ap that we all computed as pony wasn't actually.

However that said I find it quite disturbing that he apparently wants to sign up the "quality" of the likes of Luiz and Fabregas on long term contracts and he currently keeps playing Alonso.

I can understand him wanting to keep Cesc as we need quality cover for Jorginho.

Luiz is a wierder one though, hopefully the plan is to sign a CB and make him the back up which wouldn't be that bad.

I think there's another whole article hiding in there, in itself 69!

We get enough old flannel on these boards,(no names no pack drill),and also especially by the likes if JM . So it is refreshing to hear what the guy really means.

I get that the honesty is refreshing, but saying stuff like that just gives the players an excuse to underperform imo

How the actual fack is Fabregas cover for Jorginho...they are chalk and cheese

Sarri is great for calling it as he sees it...however despite this he is still selecting Morata

So I can only think he's "tapped in the napper" as my mate Craig from Burnley says

I'll take the harsh reality. Sarri's first season was never going to be a smooth one. Updating our style of play, finding the right system and players to suit it, sorting out our striker issues. There's a lot to contend with and our good results up until recently this season have somewhat papered over the many cracks at the club.

We're definitely a work in progress. Our substandard transfer department at the club doesn't help. How we could go into a season thinking that Morata and Giroud was a good enough strike force for us beggars belief.

What choice does he have though Sheriff - it's debatable who's the worst Morata or Giroud.

I get were you're coming from but when I'm praying he doesn't start Morata and goes for Giroud, I end up half way through the 2nd half, trying to think why it was I wanted Giroud to start.

I was thinking that myself. I fail to see the correlation between 'Quality' and 'Fabregas' being in the same sentence!

For me one is a partial solution but not a permanent fix and the other brings very little to the party. Either way we need someone else.

Well...for my money we put Rubes up front...he cannot do worse than those two...he's strong...can hold up the ball and knows where the goal is

I like honesty. What’s the point in managers giving interviews if they’re going to give the same templated answers over and over, what would be the point listening to them? There’s nothing to be learned

Although I love his honest outlook, I actually disagree with the general overly critical nature of his words regarding this team atm.

I understand why he sounds demanding, Napoli is his only experience managing high level expectations and those players responded quicker than we have, so I get it. But he doesn't understand how hard this philosophy has been in the past to imprint on our club, any philosophy besides Jose's in fact, so in those circumstances the players have responded better than he presumes.

I don't see the Wolves match as a full scale failure because the first half was some of the best football we've played for a month, the drop in quality and confidence of the gameplan once Wolves scored was a general mentality problem that's run through us ever since Mourinho left in 2007, we saw it with Scolari, Ancelotti, AVB, anyone who tried something different. That can only be fixed with patience, a squad overhaul or a change from Sarri/in management which just papers over the problem - hopefully this time we choose patience

That was the main thrust of his honesty though DAA, the fact that we did play ok for the 1st 60 minutes but lost our way and could find no way back once we conceded, which what was worrying to him.

Breath of fresh air for me!

It is, and I love it too. My point is I just disagree with his overall critical demeanor, not necessarily his opinions. In the big picture I'm not sure he realizes how good a job the players (and Sarri himself) have done so far, which is actually endearing.

Honest manager is one thing.

doesnt make him a good manager.

He needs to keep his squad onboard and be backed by the owner otherwise......,

Trust a $purs fan to wade in and change the direction of the article.

Maybe you ought to be more worried about your owner backing your own manager - before he ends up at Old Trafford or the Bernabeau!
