Liverpool fans are like arsenal fans. not quite as big a set of mugs, but not far off... and there are absolutely loads of them, everywhere, so you cannot really avoid them.
luckily they are a rare breed in and around north London so I don't have to come speak to them very often.

I mean, the barca coach must be an absolute mug. playing your star player in a completely meaningless game for them, having already qualified top. its actually ridiculous.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hasn't he just had three weeks off after breaking his arm? I'm sure he'd have been rested if that wasn't the case. He's fresh enough though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Doesn't matter how long he's had off, why on earth would you risk him in a meaningless game. Imagine the fans reaction if he got injured tonight.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A CL game is never meaningless, particularly to Barcelona and the fans.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really? Cos of lot of people were quite quick to sheet on our win against Real Madrid last year.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The audacity of us ah!
Imagine enjoying a victory against the holders, we should of been docked points.

I’ll be fuming if we don’t qualify. Facked up big time in the San Siro with quite frankly dreadful game management (conceding territory to drop deep and not retaining possession) has caused a 3/6 point swing which could well prove to be the decisive factor. Whether it’s scientific or psychological, playing a Thursday-Sunday schedule tends to negatively affect performances and results, and we can’t afford to have that as we’re in a battle to qualify for next seasons CL.
Would have rather finished 4th in our group so we could focus on domestic matters.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
In fairness, they got back into the game from an amazing goal out of nowhere. Then the momentum swang, as it does.

How dare we celebrate earning 4 points against one of Europe's biggest and most successful clubs who also went on to win the competition.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
I currently work in Oxfordshire and they are everywhere although at least I don't have to put up with accent as most have never been north of Banbury.
Presumably if we fall into the Europa and progress we'd be facing one if not more English teams, and that would add excitement to the competition. So while it would be difficult to win, it would be something that would be better to win than usual. Imagine facing and beating Arsenal and Chelsea on route to winning it? How satisfying would that be?
Anyway, I'd still be disappointed going out of the CL and we need to do everything in our power to try and win tonight. People say we're not good enough to win it, but if we bring our A game then we can beat anyone and get far. We've proven that by taking 4 points off the eventual winners last season, and by the fact Liverpool got so far. I mean if we were to win tonight that will show it even more.

This makes no sense. None of this proves Spurs can go far in the competition.
Barca are gong to want to win this, and win in style.
Just have to hope they rest a few, we bring our A game and we get a bit of luck along the way. If we can replicate our home game at home to Chelsea, we have a good chance of getting something

So it's meaningless in terms of the position of the table. Does that make the game meaningless? Barca won't care about what happens?
I can't actually tell if you're being serious.

Had Spurs won the group in 5 games I would not want our top boys risked in the 6th match which had no bearing on our final position.

Well they would be stupid to start Messi in what is a pointless game for them. The result has no outcome whatsoever for them, so they can start Messi at their own risk.
It does in a way. They can knock Spurs out, who are potentially a more dangerous opponent later in the competition.
I really don’t think they give a s** about that mate. Barcelona will be confident of beating anyone in the next stage. People can twist it how they want in regards to Messi getting his goals or Barca wanting to knock us out etc etc, fact is, it’s a pointless game for them and they won’t be anywhere near as up for it, if it were a game that actually meant something. They will be resting key players and if we are truly up for it, we can go there and beat them.
Whether you give a shiiiiiit or not it’s still a valid point.
Well it’s not a valid point because I really don’t think that is on their mind at all. Why would Barca care about knocking us out ? They will be more interested in getting through the game injury free.
