Why don’t people who have nothing good to say just say nothing

The problem here, why it'll be so hard to eradicate, is football's acted as a haven to the close minded pretty much since it became a national sport. No matter how well the rest of society does at eliminating discrimination in all it's various forms, as long as there's a problem at all (and it's human nature to resent something, club rivalries are a thing because of that instinct) football will always attract the select few.
It's actually quite ironic as football's one of the few material things today that unites the whole world in terms of passion for the game itself, but it's always going to have that dark side, I can't see how that's going to change unfortunately.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Agree...............Traditionally football has always had strong roots in a demographic segment of poorly educated people............Whilst I think most clubs do try and do a lot of educational work, there is only so much they can achieve in a time frame. I think patience is the key, clubs should just target schools in an attempt to educate the next generation of fans, its too late for the older generation fan.
A new information here.In Pakistan,Christians are not killed for being Christians. There is another problem here. There is a blasphemy law here which is used to accuse others to get favourable decisions in disputes. Most Christians live in Pakistan freely. The blasphemy law is wrong and is abused which is completely wrong in my eye.As for Pakistan,Christians are at times attacked but they are attacked rarely. On the other hand,Shia Muslims are attacked frequently and they are branded infidels or kafirs and attacked though. Also,Hindus,Sikhs,Parsis,Budhists and other religious minorities live freely in Pakistan though.Iranians or Pakistanis of Shia origin are generally attacked and killed.People belonging to Gilgit Baltistan and Quetta are attacked as they are Shias. The same happens in othet parts ofvthe country to Shias which is completely wrong.I am one of Shia Muslims. My maternal aunt's husband who was a bank manager was killed by a religious mercenary but was caught but managed to wriggle free.People in Saudi Arabia are not allowed to practise their religion free and not allowed to construct mosques but Americans and Europeans employed there are given 3 times the salary offered to those working there from other countries.China is treating many Muslims badly though which I don't like and do criticise.Turkey is also unfairly criticised here.Afghanistan and Iran can be criticised here in this regard though completely correctly.Egypt is one of the worst countries where the revolution was curtailed by the army under veiled US encouragment. There is also difference between anti-Semitism and opposition to the illegitimate formation of state of Israel and the human rights violations by their army against Palestinians.Iran has not that significant problem of religious intolerance but another strange problem. It is one of the rarest countries where more women are employed than men but sadly women are not allowed to enter football stadiums to watch football matches played by men which is wrong also in my view. Then, there is Boko Haram,a terrorist organisation in Nigeria which keeps killing Muslims and Christians indistinctively all in the name of religion but its aims are strictly political and not religious.

Religion is the catalyst and the excuse used
It is intolerance and the wrong mindset.Did Christian religion teach the clergymen to rape young boys? No.Did Jesus Christ tell his followers to be intolerant? No.Jesus Christ said:"If someone slaps on one side of your face, offer him to slap on the other side of your face".I was myself educated in Covent of Jesus And Mary School in the city of Sialkot in Pakistan.I really do aporeciate and comnend the social work done by Christian monasteries;nuns and priests in my own country.I have myself visited churches on Christmas Day several times.
China does keep tight control of religion as they prefer people follow the state rather than anything that would deviate any loyalty from it.
But the thing about Muslims is not just because the Uighers are Muslim. They are ethnically, culturally, language and historically different from the rest of China. There are other groups of Chinese but most of them are part or fully Han with just historical links to claims of different ethnicities. That's not the case for the Uighers, who look more Russian, Turkish, Afgahn than Chinese.

Interesting view, though I'd say in-group loyalty is the primary driver, and that isn't necessarily a negative trait in and of itself. Imo, resentment arises more as an affirmation of the former.
