Poch would be complete mad to leave this fantastic project he’s built and building, with the excitement of our new stadium etc, fantastic academy ( which he loves) to join the poisened chalice job that is United living under Fergies ghost 24/7. I couldn’t give a s*** how big United are, long are the days when they could come in and just cherry pick our players/ staff. Pochettino will eventually go to a big European super club I am sure, once he’s achieved what he has wanted to achieve at Spurs, but United ? Not a chance. Keep dreaming rival fans on here

Not necessarily true. Spurs picked up Lucas for, what, £25m last January? Clearly good value in today's market.
The top bracket players might not be available, but that's never been Spurs' wheelhouse anyway.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Wasn’t wanted by PSG and couldnt get in the side at the end of last season. he’s had a few decent games early this season but are those the type of signings that will hugely improve Spurs?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's the sort of signing Spurs go for, that's the point. They're never in the market for £60m superstars. And there are undoubtedly a lot of other players surplus to requirements at richer clubs.
I know the wider point is that this highlights the issue Spurs face if they want to keep Pochettino away from United, and I agree there's a strong chance he'll go in the summer.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
And that’s exactly why Poch will go (in my opinion) to united, they are in for the players that impact the team!

But right there is the project that Poch would take over. As mentioned, I don't think he'll go but don't pretend taking over at united isn't a huge job. It would be the perfect time for anyone to take over.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yep perfect time. He literally can’t be hated more than Mourinho was and has pretty much unlimited funds and one of the best academies in the country ( better than ours ).

As I say, I don't disagree. I was originally just responding to your point that you can't buy good players in January
If I'm honest, I think Poch is starting to realise that he's getting the absolute maximum from this Spurs squad and to progress further he needs the club to help him out with more ambitious recruitment. That just will not happen and we've already hit the apex where a decision by the club or Poch is close anyway. For Poch, this is a no-brainer. They are a much bigger club with a huge budget without the trigger happy sacking policy associated with Madrid. If we don't spend well in Jan or early summer, he's gone. No doubt about it. Think about it! Who else is there? It's certainly not Zidane otherwise they'd go for him now. They're looking at a manager currently employed. There isn't anyone else capable other than Poch.
I totally agree about baldy backing him by the way. Time to Levy to put his money where his bloody mouth is and back the best manager we have had in years.

With the greatest respect, a long term season ticket holder will know nothing about Man Utd's recruitment policy. Gary Neville is more likely to be in the know and he's already picked Poch as his favourite. Also, wasn't Mourinho a proven winner? Probably the most proven of all. Look how that worked out. They'll go with a more long term plan now to give the club an identity and faith in youth again. Poch is streets ahead of anyone else in that regard.

That format hasn't worked for them with their last 2 managers. They have to move with the times, young manager, playing attacking football, and gets on with their players...not too much to ask.

Poch is a very loyal man. Loyal to his club, loyal to his players. He has said he wouldnt coach Barca because of his Espanyol links. That's a massive thing and shows that while he is ambitious, loyalty comes first.
The way he manages his players, he expects total commitment and has not been afraid to drop the likes of Rose, Aldi & others when he has felt they have lacked commitment, despite them being senior & key players. He has been ruthless is removing those not loyal to the cause.
He has reportedly turned down Real Madrid, although their manager culture is very different and doesn't really fit the type of manager he is.
I don't think he would rule United out but i think that he would feel there is a lot of unfinished business at Spurs. On the pitch but also taking us in to the new stadium and reaping the benefits of that going forward. He knows he a top coach and if he is confident he can achieve stuff at Spurs he'll be confident he could achieve a top job at one of the giants in the future.
If he's smart he should leverage the situation to ensure we go into next season with a strengthened squad to compete at the top level. If Levy is smart he will realise he has to keep Poch happy. They are both smart men.
It will be a painful few months and summer of speculation but i feel confident that Poch will want to have some tangible success as Spurs before moving on.
Other than providing Poch with money in January/the summer, I don't think there's a lot more we can realistically do as a club to persuade him to stay. He's been absolutely brilliant with us. We've shown trust in him by financing a brand new stadium which we hope he leads us into and carries on our rise as a club, which in itself is a big risk, he could go on a barren spell and see us drop out of Europe altogether and then we'd be in a similar situation to West Ham. So with the trust we've put in him and the financial drawbacks that the stadium withholds, what more can we do?
Poch will have led Spurs into the new stadium and leave them in a very healthy position squadwise.
Madrid & Utd will fight over him in the summer.
Question is who do Tottenham go for to replace him?

Equally, you cannot surmise what sort of manager United want. Why not Zidane. Very high profile player and manager. Won the UCL three times in a row with Real when he took the reigns of that European giant and won 9 trophies in 3 seasons! Big name. Winner. CV at top club. Available (no pay out!) Seems like the perfect fit.
No doubt Poch will be on the list. No point even debating that really. If their preferred choice, the question is -
Will Poch want to go?
Will Levy let Poch go?
