I do hope it is tomorrow as I have tickets for the game but am working this eveing.

I agree with you though, it will be closer than people think we will both put out sides that haven't played much this season so it could go either way.

The question is, is there 2nd team better than our 2nd team? I would say there's is better but Toure hasn't played for over a year, Hargreaves likewise. So they have players that will be struggling for match fitness.

I am looking forward to the game.

I expect Hughton to make changes and give others a chance, we can play in the Cup another time and i think Hughton would see any domestic cups as a disraction from the Championship.

I think he will give the Europa League a go as whens the next time we would ever have a chance of playing in Europe again.

Whoever pulls on the Blue shirt must play to win.
I do not subscribe to dropping out of any competition to concentrate on another.
Any footballer worth his salt wants to win every game, Birmingham players are no different.
Chris Hughton is no different.
We will, in all likelihood be well beaten by Manchester City and their reserve side.
A side who would walk the Championship, but bigger shocks have happened before and will happen again.
If the Gods are smiling and find themselves in a very good and forgiving mood we could snatch a draw or even that shock win of the round, who knows.
Blues fan more in hope than expectation.

I'm going to the game tomorrow mate is a man city fan and I'll be meeting him down there with his manc mates sitting in the manc end so I'm hoping the beating isn't too bad!

I expect changes like the europa league game but I'd like to think we give it a go considering we are the holders of the competition don't want to be embarrased!

Guessing we don't have mcleish's luck in cup draws no more!

Take heed of the result tomorrow for other reasons as it is sometimes said be careful what you wish for.
For example, if MCFC do not 'thump' us what does that show about having all the money in the world to spend on a squad and not being able to demolish teams way below you?
On the other hand if whatever happens with the result we can still hold our heads high, what does that say about people saying we may not be good enough to compete when we show that we can?
Either way it is going to be a litmus test in some respects so there will be a positive from any possible negative!

Anybody know if the game is online anywhere?

Check out www.goalzz.com it gives the TV stations in the 'Details' next to the game information so if you can access any of the foreign ones you will know which ones to go for.
Other than that try myp2p or atdhe.

I feel tonight will be a heavy loss maybe 6 or 7 nil.
Over the season i can see us winning games by 2 or 3 but also losing by the same amount.
The two central midfielders are not close enough to the centre halfs when we are defending our area, for this reason i think Mr Tevez will cause mayhem tonight.

I agree, yes they may be playing there reserve side but their reserve side includes Mr Tevez and Mr Bollitelle upfront. I am sure Adam Johnson will get a run out.

It will be a tough game, I don't think it will be as bad as 6 or 7 nil but it could be big.

I am going for 5-2!

3-1 Man City I think. Wouldnt too bad. I wont be too upset about being knocked out of the competition. Its not like we're desperate for games!

Sadly we will be better out of this completion this year, out of Europe quickly would have been good too. I think Man City will oblige tonight, I just hope they don't embarrass us too much.

I don't agree with going out of Europe quickly. When will we ever get this chance again? We should grab it with both hands and enjoy it. As for the other cup I agree, we get to play in them every year and don't have to qualify.

I honestly think we will get spanked tonight. Like 7 or 8 nill. I should probaly have more faith in our team but Man City are just quality. They could beat anyone in the Prem bar United by at least four goals so even if we do get turned over badly it's not really a disaster. Much more important game coming up the weekend so expecting to see alot of players rested.

ED. I don't think the players would agree about throwing the towel in for Europe. For most of them like us, its a once in a lifetime thing.
The Championship will still be here next season but the big nights under the floodlights will be a distant memory.

^ The BBC being fantastically damning to us as per usual.

You'd have thought that Man City we're playing a surprising poor Brazil tonight with that write up.

Talking about how easy it was for Man City to beat us. How we'd let go of our hold on the Carling Cup with such a damp squib. For heaven's sake, what was this reporter expecting?

ED. I know you've seen Blues
in Europe both now and twice 50 odd years ago but this time round must be better because we earned the right to be there this time and not by invite only although our record was very good back in the day.
If you were forced to make a choice which time is most satisfying for you, then or now?

SCT. Shouldn't worry too much about the beebs reporters because they only follow the big time Charlies. Proof is on MOTD.
