Estimated score at full time: 5:1. Pogba hat-trick and a goal for Lingard.

Oh well, should make us still wanna go for it in the second half. While it would be good to get a clean sheet I’m happy seeing these high scoring goals with goals at both ends, it’s been a while.

Still, I'd be happy to win the second half 3-1

Scintillating half none the less.

Good half that... Regardless of their goal

Ole even has Matic passing the ball forward... Midas touch

3/4 of the budget next summer has to go on defenders

Isn't it great now he's gone?

Just enjoyable

It’s annoying we can’t keep a clean sheet. But I’m just enjoying us play good football for the first time in a long time.

And if we get a pen it's sure to be stuttering Stan to take it

Only two managers have seen their team score 3+ goals in all of their first three Premier League matches in charge:

• Craig Shakespeare
• Ole Gunnar Solskjaer

An exclusive club.

Impressed with Matic and Herrera today. Dropped in some lovely balls for those front runners.

The simple pleasures of seeing players running onto through balls, crosses being accurate and asking to be attacked...

Would an Alderwield for example really improve us that much?

I'm not so sure. I'd rather improve on Matic and help us control games better

We are horrible at defending set pieces

I will take conceding 1 goal every game if we score 3 or 5 and win every game. Clean sheets don't matter. Look at our last season under SAF. Blowing teams away is the way to win the league. We had good defensive stats in seasons after SAF left.

This tactic would all but ensure we lose every game against the big boys tbh

The way I read us talking about just outscoring our opponents, reminds me off Rodger's Liverpool and Klopp's Liverpool up until last year.

Defence wins leagues, period. Need to get it right.

It's the philosophy, though: freedom to attack without fear if you concede. Psychologically it should pay off and get the most out of these creative, talented players. It'll mean few clean sheets but lots of high scoring games.

Exactly.

It's taken Klopp a decade to realise this, hence he spent big on Van Djik and Allison

long term, obviously we need to fix the defensive issues.

However, after the past few boring years, I'm just happy to see movement upfront, and goals scored.

I've just clocked Martial put that cross in for Rashford's goal. Saw him pop up in central areas too. Being given the bit of freedom his talent requires.
