I was an admirer of Henrik Larrson
There have never been a better set of strikers as them 4 in 99 in English football
Great player. One of my favourite players to watch. Was raging when you got him as I had heard we were in for him at the time. Such an intelligent player.
Great player and so intelligent. I was gutted when we rumoured to be in for Di Canio and for whatever reason never signed him, as I thought he could have had a similar impact.
Not talked about because we didn't get him in his prime and we didn't have him that long.
To be fair most people remember him for the CL final. Also it was like our best front 4 we had under SAF. The problem was we had incredible 3 other strikers as well.
Not somebody who has bene forgotten imo. It's just that he was one of four brilliant strikers and never really had an affiliation with the club.
Poor form what he did to Coley though
also scored the important forgotten goal in the almost the forgotten game in our treble year in the fa cup final, was a quality player, amazing that we had 4 strikers who could all play brilliantly well with one another
I agree he doesn't get talked about as much, probably just personal preferences.
Bit odd as he is the only 1 of those 4 to have won player of the year.

I think he was still in his prime VC. His pace never mattered and he just got more intelligent as he aged.
While he was with us, he never felt like one of our own to me. It felt like we borrowed him.

He was a great signing for a few years. Closest thing to Cantona we've had since he left.
Goal and assist in the 99 final. Probably should be held in awe for that, but people remember the winning goals. He also wasn’t anywhere near as impactful as Ole, Yorke or Cole.

He actually had his best season for us right before we sold him. In hindsight, we might have been better keeping him and selling Yorke, whom I remember doing nothing of note after we signed Van Nistelrooy in 2001.
Sheringham stats seem to become better as he got to the age of past it most people nowadays think.

I’d like to hear the views of the poster named Syntax Error on this point.
I will stick by him being past his prime for us. His strike rate at Spurs was just over one in two, for us it was over one in three. League only stats.

I'd take choice one, comfortably. Especially in an era when the game has moved on, having the first 3 of list 1 in their prime would be devastating, even now and even without Berba.
The fluidity of Ronaldo etc and their ability to play across the front line means I'd take them and that's without (arguably) the goat being in that set of choices.
What we may have achieved, had Ronaldo stayed...
Berba didn't fit with those three, it is why he was never suited to us.
Berba in his prime would have been perfect for LVG.

That's because half of his appearances for us were as sub VC. At Spurs he was never in the bench. I bet there isn't anything between his goals per minutes ratio.
