sad to see him go, such a unique beast but the best deal we could have possibly got. Sissoko and Winks have already stepped up really as best they could be we need a CM or 2 now and pretty much did anyway.

Dembele hasn`t played this season, and frankly has not been missed. His better days are long behind him now.

Loved the way he beasted midfields. The way he just shrugged off one, two, three even four players and stepped through midfields like a knife through butter.

I wish him all the best.

Good servant to Spurs, wonderful to watch him in beast mode, wish him well. More than likely earning more than Kane at his new club...

Monster player in his pomp..... Will be missed. Good luck to him. If Levy could find some pennies another central midfielder this window would be great

I would be mortified if Levy sanctions this (assume he has). £11m in today's market is peanuts. I'd much rather him run down his contract and go on a free.

If we don't have a replacement I don't think this is a good deal at all.

Wanyama is completely broken so we only have Sissoko, Dier and Winks as midfield options. Skipp is too inexperienced to be playing important games.

I assume Poch has sanctioned this. £11m for an injury prone (lately) 31 year old is a good deal. No good waiting for contract to run down if he's in the treatment room.

Cash him in and wish him all the best for the future. Good for the club and a pay out for Mousa 👍🏻

Too many injuries, still has hip problems, can't play full 90 mins, can't play 2 games a week.
Sorry to see him go but we need a good CM replacement.

If I remember rightly Chinese clubs need to pay a 100% tax on foreign transfers. Meaning they would have to pay £22m for a player they could have got for nothing in the summer (despite a larger signing on fee).

Good deal for Spurs though.

yep, you are correct. Any foreign player over £5.4m attracts a 100% surcharge as does a domestic player over £2.2m. There are also introducing a salary cap on domestic players.

Shame, but the right decision if true. His "beast mode" days will only get fewer and further between. Might as well sell now, save the wages and (imagine this) buy a new midfielder.

£11m is a great deal but I’d still wouldn’t take it personally.

Keeping him until the summer would give us a better chance of winning something and getting top4 than it does without him.

You know we won’t replace him and it’ll leave us short

I wish Dembele all the best, one of my favourite players and he was a joy to watch when on top of his game.

I hope there is a top class replacement lined up, but I doubt it.

I actually like having less midfield depth

posted on 8/1/19

Probably not at his prime of 2-3 yrs ago but his ability on the ball is up there with the best. If he had played for Madrid or Barcelona he would be lauded more than he is.
Up there as my favourite spurs player and will be sorely missed If sold. Still doesn't make sense selling him in January if we don't have a replacement.

Sad to see Dembele leave the PL.

A great player and always destroyed our midfield whenever we played you

tbf, Cant remember many midfields getting the better of him.

I really can’t see us letting him go if we haven’t got a replacement lined up.

I think we might end up back in for grealish this window, and I’m not sure how I feel about that
