Get rid of both Morata and Giroud and buy someone and use Abraham as second choice. That would be perfect.
If what it takes for us to start academy players is other big teams making bids for them i imagine our rivals will start making fake bids for the one's clearly not good enough.
Guys I have read article after article from CFC fans that we must play youth, well let me tell you my opinion,I keep seeing same players mentioned and how they should be playing, I really think our fans overrate any youth player they may see a few times and label them the next big thing and how they will be world beaters. In all these years I have not seen any player as yet apart from Hudson Odoi who I believed would make it, I think it would be a mistake to sell him but lets go back to all these others, you tell me which youth player that CFC held back by not playing them in the first team and then letting go and after leaving CFC then went on to be a total class player, ANYONE?
Its the same every season with our fans, the last one was everyone saying Josh McEachran should play,, he is going to be absolute class. Now what happened there? he turned out be nothing special at all.
I can understand you all in some ways, you are so desperate to see a young player come through but the sad fact is, its a massive step up to the first team , especially at a club like us and unfortunately we as yet have not found one to make it in may many years.
Our fans just over hype any young player and it proves to be a false dawn,
Now lets get back to the shall we say usual suspects who some fans believe should be starting for us and this is just my opinion .
Chalobah will never develop in to much more than an ok player.
Tammy Abraham will be a championship striker at best, I saw absolutely nothing at Swansea when he was playing in the prem to get past this comment, even this season with villa..
Loftus Cheek, the jury for me is still out, he has had a few and yes I will say a few opportunities that I do not think he has taken to elevate himself as one of the first names on the team sheet. He has score a few but has also gone missing on a few occasions.

Let's start with this. How will you know they aren't good enough when they have refused to give them game time. We bought Bakayoko for £40m and loaned RLC to Palace. Please answer this: between both of them currently who is better? Should I bring in Drinkwater or Zappacosta deals when we have better alternatives.
The idea of only CHO being only the best acadmy product ideal to stake a claim is not entirely true. In 2015, a certain Lewis Baker was the best player in the Nextgen tournament an equivalent of UCL Youth then.
He just joined Reading for his 6th loaned movement.
Tammy Abraham dissapointing spell with Swansea last season should not be used to judge his qualities. That was a terrible team that hardly create chances. All we need currently are goal poachers and he can fit in perfectly.

I mentioned Lewis Baker because me thinks we didn't handle him very well. He had a good season at Vitese only to loan him the following season to a Championship team.
I watched Tottenham FA Cup match last weekend and I can tell you those Spurs Kids are not better than what we have. Do you think Reece will make it in Chelsea's colour even after his rating almost every week in the championship?
If we are buying world class players like we do in the earliest years of Roman, atleast the case for the youth team players would have been mild from me. But, we spend tons of millions on players that are equal or even lesser than our youth team players.
I'm not saying we should graduate all the academy guys into the senior squad. But, you can't tell me a Redan a like for like for a position we are have issues from the youth set up wont do a decent job.
The major issue as I see it is the youth set up and the first team are in not aligned mostly due to the revolving door of first teams manager . I think you're a little guilty of being far too simplistic here.
I was one of those that wanted to see McEachran play more games as I felt he was one of the most naturally gifted footballers I've seen Chelsea produce since Ray Wilkins. I still don't think we've produced anyone with his natural ability since.
When he was given the opportunity he, as far as I'm concerned, didn't disappoint. Yet what happened when more senior players became available again - he was dropped back down to the youth setup and loaned out, a loan that turned into 5 consecutive loans.
Real Madrid even tried to sign him and he turned them down because of his love for Chelsea but the club never repaid that loyalty with a fair chance.
I have said on here many moons ago that I believe permanently loaning players out will very quickly erode their confidence and their bond to the parent club. I've always believed players, especially young ones need stability to be able to show what they're capable of.
If you read interviews both Chalobah and McEachran have since given, they both said as much and how they eventually had to get away because they could no longer stand the thought of being sent out on loan again.
This must be the same story for a plethora of young Chelsea players, who may never now realise their potential, due to being constantly loaned out and not getting proper football experience, in some cases, until almost their mid 20's, by which time their experience will never catch up with players of a same age who have been playing regular 1st team football.
I find it telling that you say you don’t think RLC has done enough to cement a starting place with us. I find that rather astonishing as I would say the opposite, he’s shown he is far beyond Barkley’s ability and for me even Kovacic, in being a far more positive player, who carries a goal scoring threat, which is one thing we’re absolutely desperate for.
I personally think it’s far too easy to dismiss the potential of these lads and shows a lack of understanding of what it must be like trying to be a young footballer in an ever more cut throat world of professional football at clubs like ours, who will only show any confidence in a player if they’ve bought them in at great cost.
I respect your opinion if that's what you believe but I'm afraid I can in no way aspire to it.
Scatter gun list of styles!!! The youth set up seems play with the same style and this should mirror the first team or close to it.
---------------------------------------------------------------
We're not even doing that this season. The academy are still playing three at the back, whilst Sarri has gone to a back four.
Markus makes a good point. You may need to restructure behind the scenes to bring in a style or system, where signings, youth set up and coaches are in sync with a certain style or ethos.
We've had the same issues, but more with recruitment of players and managers. Each manager we have hired after SAF had different styles and the signings under some of them, especially Jose, didn't match what the club nor what the Manager wanted. Hence a lot of waste of money.
Bringing in youth players into the squad and first team does show others there is a path to it. Look at United, Tottenham, Liverpool and now even City. They're all trying to make sure youth players get a chance. Whether they make it or not is another thing entirely. But you need to give them a chance to do so.
How about inserting a buy-back clause in the selling contract of CHO if we do selling him to Bayern Munchen or otherwise,we can tell CHO to play for Chelsea till the end of his contract and offer him a really good contract if he quite during the next 5 months for Chelsea.Views, guys?
Brummie I also respect your opinion but revert back to my previous statement and first cite both the players you mentioned, Mceachran , Chalobah , what have they really gone on to achieve that would make you think we made a big mistake letting them go?
Again I point out an ask can anyone give the name of one youth player we let go that turned in to a superstar?
RLC is just my opinion, the jury is still out for me.
And once again I cite Dominic Solanke, so many raving about what he will become.
He basically tells us he wants 50 grand a week after doing nothing of any note, we let him go, some of the fans are up in arms about it and in the end where is he now, that is not a CFC problem, he just was not good enough.
And I feel exactly the same way about Tammy Abraham in all fairness has scored goals but again my opinion will not amount in to a top scoring prem player.
I will say how ever again, that Hudson Odoi if the first youth player in may many years that I believe will go onto to be a top top class and possibly world class player, to sell him will be a big mistake

sorry entered 2 same article
Can anyone here answer my question regarding CHO and buy-back clause in his selling contract or right of first refusal if he does get sold?
Nobody can answer that until he is sold and even then only if the terms of sale are indicated.
I have never heard of CFC doing a buy back on others we have sold, it seems to be more a European thing.
If it is to be anything I think it would be a sell on clause indicating a large percentage to us,
But lets hope it does not come to that.
As I said I hope CFC turn down all advances and try in next 6 months to make him chnage he's mind about new contract
Thanks Bridge of Dreams.Did Chelsea buy Nemanja Magic back from Benfica after selling him to him in 2009-2010 season with a buy-back clause?
*after selling him to them and then signing him in 2013-2014 season if I am correct.Him signed for Mourinho and gave a man of the match performance v Man City in Premier League in his debut match in Premier League for Chelsea.
but revert back to my previous statement and first cite both the players you mentioned, Mceachran , Chalobah , what have they really gone on to achieve that would make you think we made a big mistake letting them go?

I did think I had covered that in my post. I said that I have always believed that continual loans erode the confidence of young players.
Basically I think we ruined their careers, neither Chalobah or McEkkers were the same players after all those loans and all those wasted years caught up on them.
Just Google, there are loads of articles out there were they talk about the effect the constant loans affected them.
Solanke I never really rated anyway and never expected him to be any more than a journyman striker plying his trade around Championship level at best.
I like Brummie's comments.

I will say how ever again, that Hudson Odoi if the first youth player in may many years that I believe will go onto to be a top top class and possibly world class player, to sell him will be a big mistake

Can anyone here answer my question regarding CHO and buy-back clause in his selling contract or right of first refusal if he does get sold?
posted on 10/1/19
Nobody can answer that until he is sold and even then only if the terms of sale are indicated.

Thanks Bridge of Dreams.Did Chelsea buy Nemanja Magic back from Benfica after selling him to him in 2009-2010 season with a buy-back clause?

but revert back to my previous statement and first cite both the players you mentioned, Mceachran , Chalobah , what have they really gone on to achieve that would make you think we made a big mistake letting them go?
----------------------------------------------------------------
I did think I had covered that in my post.
