Well it wouldn't be the first time players have downed in a Man Utd game this season...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah Southampton did it.
We’re massive underdogs going into this game, Ole has had absolutely no investment so far yet is still winning games
"Sir Alex told the lads that this group will make United dominant and successful again.
He said that he believes in them and he wants them to enjoy themselves and to fight hard for each other and leave everything on the pitch."
OP
I believe the opposite
when you have a good attack and a mediocre fefence like we do you bet it all on attack.
You don't start to handicap the attack for fractional improvement in the defence. This was what Jose did at an extreme end of the scale and why he failed at utd.
The best way to defend is to attack - it has and will always be true
It'll be like United-Spurs in the 60's
I predict 6-5 to United, with a sub scoring the winner in the last few minutes
We'll need to be disciplined and we'll need to make sure that we're compact early on and if that means the full backs staying back a bit early doors then so be it.
I think we'll see a fast Spurs start and, if we can weather that storm, I can see us being able to impose ourselves and maybe the few days extra break can be telling as we edge towards the end of the match. I see us getting a positive result if I'm honest.
What I don't want to see is us camped at the edge of our box. I'd rather lose 6-3 trying to go for it than 1-0 because of one slip.
Should Ole make any allowances?
I think he has to experiment. Truth is we simply don't know how we will fare going all out attack against a side who will also be more open than somebody like Newcastle.
What we do know is sitting back has earned us only 2 points vs the other top 6 so far.

Sitting deeper and playing on the counter doesn’t mean Mourinho football, though. It’s like people have forgotten what counter attacking football can be look. Look at what we used to do to Arsenal all those years under Fergie. I’m sure that’d be more of a blueprint for Ole than Mourinho’s approach. Though as Ace points out that wasn’t how we played at Old Trafford this season. Away from home is a different matter, however.
"This game is a big step up from the dross you've been playing lately. A true test of how well Solskjaer is doing"
5 wins from 5 says how well he is doing, I read Jose didn't manage that in 2 years.
Even if it it becomes 6 in 6 opposition will make excuses.
If it becomes 5 in 6 its still a good start.
Same core team... just with matic and herrera a little deeper and an eye to counter fast with pogba, rashers, martial and lingard. Need to be lethal with our finishing.
Playing young at RB could be key, strangely.
I read that Ole is the first top flight manager in history to win their first 5 games by two goals or more

I wonder if Mourinho will try and claim responsibility for that because it’s his team.
Fancy Utd to get a result

He should đ
Jose proved you can't score goals and win football matches from inside your own end.
Ole has proved you score goals and win football matches from inside your opps end.
It's all very elementary, and there are no exceptions.

From what I have seen of spurs of late, they seem to run out of steam in the second half.
If you can keep them at arms length for the first 30 minutes or so, I see no reason why United cant get a result on Sunday.

Wenger did for Arsenal’s unbeaten run.
What Fergie had or didn’t have is beside the point. The point is that it’s possible to sit deeper and counter attack, having a balance between the two, without it being a park the bus job.
Football isn’t two extremes of all out attack or all out defence. I’m sure Ole’s set up will reflect that.
We were actually easy to get at in SAF last 2 seasons. Similar to this season and last season under Mourinho.
Hafi, do you actually watch football, or just read the stats? Genuine question.
Go and attack them like the It's of Old would. If it's not good enough on the day at least we can say we tried. No more cowardly football.
Who is saying more cowardly football?
