he got criticised when he missed easy chances but on the whole he's done well, while we have some total flops and liabilities in our team that you let off.

Xhaka is good looking like Giroud so that's his excuse. You don't criticise Ozil because he's German, but you don't like Mustafi because he's Turkish German.

Auba gets criticised rightly for missing sitters.

Ozil gets criticiswd rightly for being a massive bottler.

I'm just not convinced Seebs. Jokes aside, I accept that it should few seasons to go back in be competitive. But I'd expected the defence to have the improved even just a bit. He has had 7-8 months to drill the defence and there is no sign of improvement. He has been in charge for the preseason and should have focused on that when every man and his dog knew it was our issue

We have no cash. Our best CB is out for the season. When he was around we often conceded because of three Wenger era players; Xhaka, Monreal and Mustafi.

Since Holding has been injured we've reverted back to type. Poor individual errors.

You can message tactics and formations all you want but in the end the quality of player dictates everything. What on earth do you expect Emery to do when the likes of Xhaka and Mustafi or Koscielny make basic errors time and again? We don't even have the resources to replace them.

All the talk of loans has been of midfielders or wingers. I haven't heard a squeak on defenders.

I don't expect any improvement with essentially the same core or players Wenger left. Emery has made small improvements with individual players but generally he has been fire fighting with the deficiencies of the squad since August.

Ozil is Turkish German too, my theory is flawed.

Tbh don't think GT is an Ozil fanboy. He's criticised him in the past.

He's 100% a Giroud & Xhaka arrrse bandit though.

At least with this setup where the manager doesn't buy the players, even if Emery doesn't work out the people building the squad are the same and we won't be starting from scratch with a new manager who wants a squad overahaul. Raul and Sven are arguably more important than Emery right now with the poor state of our squad.

I'm sorry Seebs but you are talking absolutely shiiit. We spent ~£65M on defensive players alone in the summer and we are actually worse than last season in terms of goals conceded and clean sheet.
Again, I wasn't expected miracles but with the addition we made, I'd love to see some signs of improvement.

People keep saying it needs time, which is fair enough but what has Emery achieved in his managerial career to make them believe he is the right man to turn this around?

Emery has won Europa cup, three of them back to back under Sevilla.

As who I'd want, difficult questions but I'd think Jardim would do a better job than him. Btw, he beat Emery to Ligue 1!

I wanted Wenger to go for few seasons and you know that Seebs.
If I may, I'd turn your view around and say the WOBs are so delighted that AW, that for them it is enough. Anyone but Wenger to the point that despite being just 2 points better off than last season, there's no room for criticism.

Yes Klopp needed time but he demonstrated he can win a championship with Dortmund. Same with Pep.
Emery best finish apart from PSG is 5th! So where does the believe come from?

We probably don't have a better squad than the top 6 but surely we have better defensive players than Southampton?! No?
