Fantastic as he was, it does worry how easy they got through us!
That is why i mentioned bittersweet!
This is an area we really need to strengthen when we can do. Because for all of De Gea's heroics, he can't be superman for every 90 minutes.
I can't think of any of the saves that he made that were worldies. The finishing was terrible from Spurs.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
There were a couple of quality saves that i noticed. But to remain alert for the constant onslaught from Tottenham is also a key attribute for a quality keeper.
He still has some areas to improve a little, but his shot stopping abilities/reaction times is the best in the world for me.
Busby, i seen that post on Shaw's Twitter post too
to answer about none of the saves being worldies
I hear this about ddg and other top keepers
what you need to appreciate is that of the 11 saves he made at least half of them could have been considered by lesser keepers without an eyebrow being raised
in fact we only see on or 2 worldies in a weekend of epl football
What you should also add is that for all those 'non' world class saves will breed more confidence in a quality keeper like DDG.
Especially this season whereby lack of clean sheets was becoming the norm for him - to make 11 saves and keep a clean sheet against an attacking side like Tottenham at theirs will boost DDG's confidence in trying to keep a more consistent clean sheet run in the run up of future games.

Only 1 of them I thought was top class. The rest were all saves I'd expect him to make or any good keeper.
Lloris made 7 saves too and let one in as well. Nobody is mentioning that though.

He saved a volley from a corner at the best post, how is that not a worldie
----------------------------------------------------------------------
those were not my words, so I would rather not address that
imo saving a scrappy finish that could have led to a goal is equally as important as saving a worldie
I think when it comes to DDG make any sort of save, it is highlighted further about being world class or standard.
Saves are made in every game of football, but quality reaction saves can be the difference between 0 to 3 points.

I actually believe the opposite
the saves us utd fans see as standard from ddg are far from being standard saves. We have just become desentised to how good the saves are. Then we have a day like today where it is shoved in our faces just how good he is

The 'standard' saves he makes, most other good/quality keeper can do the same.
But when your keeper is under a constant hammering of shots and pulls of save after save then yes, in way you expect him to make those saves. But like i said earlier, this gives him confidence to retain that clean sheet momentum into coming games. And in those moments he may well pull off another couple of world class saves.
I think this season we have been reminded again how great he is (we already knew he was) due to conceding too much too soon.
De Gea already made as many saves this season as he did in 15/16 season in PL. We really need to sell most of our back 4/backups.
I think a few posters on here have said we'd be fine without DDG if he left as Romero has been seen as someone who is quite good.
I have said then, and now, that while Romero is a top class back up, he is no way good enough to be our first choice. DDG is one of the best, if not the best, in the world. Romero hasn't been able to keep a first team spot at his previous two clubs before United and neither of them were top teams.
Lol Romero is world class. He has one of the best save percentages in the world. Yes he isn't great with the ball at his feet but he is amazing.http://stats.washingtonpost.com/epl/players.asp?player=27826
Also I think he was close to 90% save percentage in our winning Europa League campaign.
Romero is a great back up keeper to have. And we are lucky to have him as that. But when it comes down to fine margin saves, there’s only one man that can be the difference between 0 - 3 points.
We don’t always want to rely on our keeper to be the last ditch attempt at saving our own asses but it has been this way for a long while now due to our average defence putting more pressure on him.
But when called upon, more often than not he has saved our skins for countless times.
There is hardly any other keeper in the world who can have that impact.
For me, it is vital that we keep Dependable Dave.
The Alderwereld save was the most impressive for me.
To be fair, we should never have been in that position and should have buried them early in the second half. We were wasteful
