He's said all he needs to now on the matter and at the start of the press conference he said he was doing it to keep the focus on the game in the next press conference.
------
Do you really think that after this no one will ask any questions about this in pre match presser?

His spy that watched Nottingham Forest train must clearly have given him duff information for the two matches that were played this season...

Of course the press will try to. But what more can he possibly say on the matter. He's devoted over an hour to it, he can say that he won't talk about it.

Best, you could see post derby he was angry with the questions, that will continue as he's asked about it more and more, which he surely will be.

If I was them I would say no questions on this topic at pre match presser.

As a Derby fan I think he comes across very well in this interview. He's clearly irked and upset by people thinking he's a bit of a cheat. The detail is astonishing and it demonstrates the complete lack of a necessity to spy in the first place.

I don't live in Derby so I get a relatively unbiased take on it from those I talk to. Every football fan I have spoken to about this thinks that what he has been doing is morally wrong. I understand Leeds fans all getting behind the manager, I would too, but I think that if this had happened to the manager of another team your opinions of it might be different. I think he genuinely hasn't understood how this would be generally regarded in this country. I don't think he or Leeds should get any particular punishment, but I do think he should just say that he's very sorry, that he got it wrong, and that he won't do it again.

Simple for me

Anyone journo asks about it, will be immediately ejected and banned from the club for a year

I'd be looking at limiting the access that Sky journalists have pre and post match.

Vidal, completely agree with that first bit, it doesn't quite make sense why to send someone.

There is the morally wrong way of thinking as if there is some special etiquette about the English game. I read great piece about this today about how our moral's ethics are quite different to those who actually have something tangibly invested in the outcome ie their job, its not as black and white as it is to us and tales of people listening outside of dressing rooms, removing ceiling tiles so conversations were easier to hear, abound.

I really do applaud his honesty on this, but what does he have to apologise for if he feels he's done nothing wrong and he hasn't broken any laws or rules?

I do believe he did already say he was sorry if he'd caused any upset to Lampard.

For all Sky's furore and the likes of Andrew's obvious hate of us, hasn't stopped us being on Sky more than any other English team, slight double standards there, we going to slate you until the cows come home but love the extra revenue that featuring Leeds brings.

Well this thread looked like fun.

Honestly how many of you thought laundry would have to be done later when you heard about the news conference.

Hardly rocket science to work out that's he's done it more than a few times this season, every game just shows OCD to me.

Jonty, it isn't illegal, but then it isn't illegal to, say, overcharge an old lady for a second hand car you are selling to her. Just because an act isn't illegal doesn't mean it isn't wrong. Obviously morality is subjective but he ought really to recognise that he differs from the great majority of those involved in English football in this regard. Whenever anyone visits a foreign country it's respectful to fit in with local cultural norms. I really don't think this is a big deal, but he would help put it to bed if he did say sorry.

He does acknowledge how his views on the issue differ from those established in the English game.

I love being a Leeds fan at the moment. Was touch and go at 3:30pm though.

Punishment could be worse that first foreseen.

We need a couple of managers to say this is a common practice and to say it is not a big deal.

One thing I think it's one is really take the legs out of the story.

Sure it will be asked about next game, but after that, what more can you say other than "I think I answered that last week"

Sorry, but anxiety isn't a sufficient reason.

What is he going to do, suffer anxiety attacks if he cant send someone to training ground?

What he really means is he wants to check of something has changed last minute and I can understand that and I still don't think there is anything wrong with that.

I think I actually understand why Bielsa has just held this kind of press conference. I recognise a few personality traits in Bielsa that (without going into detail on here) I suffer from.

One is that when someone is critical of me in my profession, it bothers me so much that I can't think of much else for a few days. It consumes me and bounces around my head constantly. I've occasionally found myself spending 3 hours writing an email in the early hours of the morning explaining my work and decision-making process to the critic just so that I can get some sleep and function properly the next day.

Once I've hit "send" then my anxieties evaporate to a great degree.

I see this conference of Bielsa's as being somewhat similar in that he hopes to focus on his job by getting this nonsense out of the way.

I fear he's not reckoned on the twisted news reporting or vindictive FL board though. Sky and the FL both have axes to grind because of AR.

Vidal, its unreasonable to expect him to know all cultural differences between wherever he's coached and here, you pick things up as you go along.

But, what is the difference? We've heard plenty of stories since this broke of managers watching other teams, calling players they know in other sides to find out what is going on etc etc all going on in this country....there is no cultural difference.

As for the little old lady scenario, the lady has all the same avenues open to her to check prices. The car seller is there to maximise his income. If he thinks he can charge 10k for this car or maybe only 9.5 to that person, that's his job.

The problem when we bring moral compasses into judge people is whose moral compass do we use as everyone's is different.

Bielsa is an ansolute genius. Knows more about most Championship teams than their own managers do.
