The Sarri impact...
OUT: Bakayoko and Morata; BINNED: Zappacosta, Cahill, Drinkwater and Moses.
IN: Kepa Arrizabalaga, Jorginho, Kovačić, Pulisic and Higuain.
Good short term fix. We can look for a top striker in the summer.
Got mixed feelings about this. Good to see Marina trust the managers first opinion when it's been reported (and implied through her dealings with Wilson) that she's not sold on Higuain, that's a very good thing. It looks like we're prepared to back Sarri in a way we didn't back Conte and that's great
Having said that I don't disagree with her in this particular case. Yes anyone is better than Morata/Giroud in theory, but Higuain comes with plenty of his own baggage that suggest he's more of the same - it's swapping damaged goods for damaged goods. I really hope I'm eating crow by the end of the season.
Much prefer this to signing Wilson for 50+ fecking million
Reassess in the summer when we hopefully have secured CL football.
I really hope I'm eating crow by the end of the season.

This is a Win .. Win situation for you. Higuain turns out to be a solid striker whilst you get to eat your favourite bird meat

I said on the Haven that we don't really need the Napoli Higuain.
An impact akin to Eto'o's will more than surfice under the circumstances.
Interesting one this. Higuain looks done as a top level striker, but if he can contribute goals to get top four and maybe a trophy it doesn’t seem a bad loan deal. GT will lose his shiiiiiiiit when he sees Higuain in the starting lineup while Giroud warms the bench. So that will be fun.
DL11, see the thing is prime Higuain is the only thing that'll make this work IMO. He's never been one to score big goals in big games so we need him to make the difference in those games like the Southampton one. We need the flat track bully otherwise he's more of the same.
The other dangerous thing about this, and this might just be my paranoia, is Sarri starting him EVERY match. Poor as Morata & Giroud have been Sarri's done his job trying to rotate them/drop both playing Hazard up top, but Higuain's his boy. For all the idiotic stick Jorginho gets I will argue there's certain games where he's made redundant by opposition tactics but Sarri sticks with him regardless, he could be one of those managers who has trusted favorites in which case we might be stuck with a garbage Higuain in the team?
Not too sure on that one Devils, as much as Jorginho is an undisputed starter he hasn't been afraid to haul him off in games he's being nullified like Everton and apparently he would have gone off last week had we still had Cesc. I could be wrong but if Higuain flops and keeps getting picked it would probably say more about how little he rates Giroud as opposed to Higs being untouchable (similar to the Alonso Emerson situation).
At least even if he doesn’t get dropped it means you’ll still have Hazard in his best position.
Although the best and only acceptable deal for Higuain (loan and not a buy) still not sure about this but. His record is literally the same, or thereabouts, to Morata and Giroud this season. Gonzalo Higuain has a worse goal per minutes ratio than Alvaro Morata this season (220/168)
Morata out and Higuain in (same Italian journalists that are breaking Higgy move also say Morata is close to Atletico loan/but) just gives us two 30+ strikers, and we will have to replace one or even both in next 6-18 months anyway. But oh well
Milan are shiiiiiiit, to be fair.

That argument holds little weight when Bakayoko is playing well for the same club.
Not really, he’s a defensive midfielder. I’d Hazard a guess that Chelsea create a lot more chances than they do.
Is Bakayoko really playing well or is he getting plaudits because he's finally learnt how to control a ball?

Could be argued that adds weight to the argument if they’re so bad Baka looks good in their team

Wouldn't that stregthen the argument given Baka's amoung the best performers?
Positives from this transfer:
- On loan, if he flops we get rid of in the summer
- Sarri gets his man
- We don't panic buy/over pay on some average striker
- Hazard back on the left
- Higuain knows Sarri's system/tactics
- We get rid of Morata who doesn't want to be here

Start marinating that crow pal, only wish we got him in summer
We should have gone for Cavani or Lewandowski but Higuain on loan will do.If we don't retain him next season & actually sign a striker like Cavani and Fekir next summer, then we will be fine even if we sell Eden Hazard. Also,Horgan Hazard can be a decent replacement for Eden Hazard in my view if Eden leaves Chelsea.
