great news in principle....I really hope we aint bought our usual standard of top striker
Morata in the other direction is an even better bit of news

Positives from this transfer:
- On loan, if he flops we get rid of in the summer
- Sarri gets his man
- We don't panic buy/over pay on some average striker
- Hazard back on the left
- Higuain knows Sarri's system/tactics
- We get rid of Morata who doesn't want to be here
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Negatives
He's 31, fat hardly scored this season, never played in the PL, going to be expensive, we don't know what the deal is with him - are we obliged to sign him permenantly in the summer!
So now we potentially are stuck with three non-strikers!
(Assuming this deal is done)
Brummie we have the option in the summer to extend the loan for another year or sign him permanently. Or we can just send him back I’m pretty sure.
Also Giroud’s contract runs out in the summer I think so he could be gone.
Morata’s loan could be made permanent as well so we could actually end up with none of them

Is Bakayoko really playing well or is he getting plaudits because he's finally learnt how to control a ball?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This. Who on this site has actually watched more than a couple ac milan games?
Brummie spreading the optimism today
Hardly inspiring news is it Nick.
I was hoping $purs would nip in and get him!
I'm not sure how this isn't a good deal.. it's a 6 month loan deal.. if it works then great it can be extended for another year.. if not then he's back to Juve.
He's better than what we have that can't be disagreed with.
Higuain is also is good shape.. He tends to come back from preseason overweight but sure so did Costa.. heck even Hazard came back from the world cup overweight this season.
I think is not a bad move as I am sure it's a short term attempt to fix a longer term problem. We are more likely to get that longer term fix during a summer window.
If he has anything left in his tank we win, if he doesn't we are no worse off.
There are other options of course, some I'd give a go to if possible like recall Tammy but this is the one it looks like we are taking and it could make sense.

Way I see it? Can’t be worse than what we already have. We are creating chances for our striker (or atleast we’re till recently) but he just wasn’t putting them away. If Higuaín can grab 10/15 goals it will be a success.

I actually think this could be the best option. I do think we'll keep at least 1 of them but we all know that we need a world class striker and unfortunately I don't think any of them are that. Giroud is great back up but I can't wait for us to sell Morata personally

My main disappointment is we've had an ideal situation to assess one of our own players and once again have neglected to be more proactive in giving youth a chance.
I know Abraham could be considered to be taking a risk but so is this move - and we don't pay any extra for Tammy!

I have to disagree again.. Tammy is banging them in.. in the Championship. Until he proves himself in the PL then I'm not sure there is an argument for him to be the answer.
He was average at Swansea.
Bit harsh to criticise his time at Swansea who were pretty shocking in general. But he does need more PL experience as to why I wanted the loan move to Wolves to happen as that would have been a great club for him to develop and learn.
Happy with the Higuain deal, just wanted us to get a striker this month because I'm sick of the sight of both Morata and Giroud and even Hazard in the false 9 position. 6 month loan deal works perfectly too.

I never read anything into his time at Swansea, if the manager don't pick you there's not much you can. Add to that they were useless anyway and didn't get the ball to him.
Higauin hasn't been tested in the PL either and his goalscoring record over the last 18 months isn't great anyway!
I still stick with my appraisal that we had little to lose by bringing Tammy back.
Gonna be interesting to see how he does in the PL. He’s 31 and i can’t say I’ve seen any of him but his stats have been declining the last couple of years.
I’d be very surprised if he rips it up here.
If Higuain can help Chelsea secure top 4 and win a trophy then it's been a successful signing.
I know some players be considered flat track bullies but that's the type of striker we need right now.. someone who can unlock the door against the likes of Southampton and West Ham.
Agree we just need someone who's gonna put the chances away, he doesn't need to rip it up here. If he can get us top 4 and possibly win us a trophy, that'll be brilliant.
As long as we don't do this for Higuain:
https://youtu.be/7B5ftOV3FYA
Then everything will be fine
I haven't watched Higuain this season so I don't know where he's at in terms of age and form etc but he surely can't be as bad as Morata and Giroud have been. Hopefully he'll be a marked improvement on them. The bar isn't set very high at this point.
Is Bakayoko really playing well or is he getting plaudits because he's finally learnt how to control a ball?
-----------------------------------------------------------------
That's entirely possible. I keep meaning to find the time to watch AC so I can judge for myself, but several reports keep maintaining he's turned a new leaf.
Milan are shiiiiiiit, to be fair.
--------------------------------------------------------
That argument holds little weight when Bakayoko is playing well for the same club.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Could be argued that adds weight to the argument if they’re so bad Baka looks good in their team
-----------------------------------------------
Depends if that's the issue or not. If it's a case of Milan being so bad Baka looks good than fair enough. If he's simply outperforming Higuain, and being a poor team means he'll come under more pressure, then that's embarrassing.
Start marinating that crow pal, only wish we got him in summer
---------------------------------------------------------
Fingers crossed me and others are overthinking it and we've just got our own Aubameyang.
