Never one to revel in a player's failure ........you could see the confidence draining from him and according to his stats he has missed 27 "big chances" which would have made him a top performing striker
Always thought he was trying so wish him well

I agree, but honestly it's very frustrating to know that if he had taken a few of those chances (some of them were on a plate) we would more than likely be enjoying champions league football this season. Still hindsight....

The thing is, he is built for the league. He's 6 foot plus, has decent pace and can hold the ball up if he wants. His issue is all mentality. Just weak minded and feels hard done by on the pitch the moment he misses a chance or loses the ball. People have compared him to Torres at Chelsea, but at least with Torres, you saw him working his balls off all the time. That's why the Chelsea fans never got on his back, unlike Morata.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Torres, although frustrating did contribute to the team and did impact arguably the most important games in our history. Barca away and the final winning the corner.
He was never cut out for this league, some players just aren't regardless of talent. He's a talented boy and he'll probably do much better back in Spain. I think him leaving is win win all round. Wish it had happened last summer instead so we could have had a different striker this season starting from the beginning.

Hold the ball up...err no he can't...that's half his trouble
Fack him. Weak mentality, Got paid well for it, scored and threw strops with his celebration or lack of.
Good riddance.
Viva Gonzalo.
Someone say morata can hold up the ball? Lol

That's certainly one thing he couldn't do
I do admire how quickly Chelsea ship off flops. Utd seem to hold to hold on to them forever.

For Torres we basically bought an entire team to try and improve him before finally giving up.
Really hope we don't buy another Spanish striker anytime soon after the two flops that were Torres and Morata. And Costa doesn't count he's Brazilian born.

Love how you bring up the only occasion we haven't shipped of flops early
Just showcasing it as the example that we more than likely learned most from. And probably why Morata is being shown the door as opposed to being given chance after chance.

Pool fan...
I'm not one to bash departing players unless they kick up fusses/breach their contracts. You could tell he'd given up towards the end but equally we'd given up on him so it just emphasized the fact both of us needed to move on.
I hope he rediscovers his form cos he's not a technically bad player, just got massive mentality problems. He's capable and I hope he realizes his potential. Also hope he proves to be the final nail in Costa's coffin just for the bantz

I just can't envisage anyone picking him before Costa but I do admire your thinking DA
Atletico are waiting for a bid from China mate, he's been pants since going back there. Seems we're not the only ones who made a mistake the day he decided to be a pr@t about a text

I understand your sentiments but that is no way to speak about a decent person who was also a player of Chelsea FC in the past.
1 star for being disrespectful towards an ex-Chelsea player.
