Why we care about FFP anyway? Look at the way City & PSG flaunt the rules. Why should we play by the same rulebook when they clearly don't?
Where there is a will there is always a way around FFP. There is no will, that's the only issue here
Think it’s clear we’re looking to reduce wages and offload our high earners before making any significant moves. Some of the wages are way too high for their ability. This is fine so long as they are replaced, there are plenty of players as good as if not better than the players we pay a fortune too. Plus if we get more players in who fit in with Emery’s way, in theory we should improve. Spurs have managed to build a good squad, better than ours currently without playing anyone a ridiculous wage, and I think that’s the way we seem to want to go. Focus hard on scouting, and pick up good players cheaper. We did this well under wenger when he first came.
I hope this is part of a proper plan, and not simply motivated by spending as little as possible. The summer will help reveal what is actually going on. January is hard for a lot of clubs to bring in top players, and I don’t want us panic buying and being left with more crap in the squad we can’t shift. So I’m that situation I’d be happy for just loans. But we won’t have that excuse in the summer, so we should get a better idea of what the plan is then

We had a longterm plan since 12 years now....
Agree, there's been no workable long term plan at the club. It was buy what Wenger and his team saw as bargains (usually regardless of where the weaknesses were in the side) then overpay them
We do need to get the wages in order, that is without doubt but given the amount of money Kreonke is set to make should he sell he should invest now/summer rather than have Arsenal declining for however many seasons it takes to ship out the dross

The rules are there, ways around them for wealthy billionaires with company portfolios are also there

Its easier to circumvent rules if you get hedge funds involved. Especially sovereign wealth funds controlled by oligarchs. The middle east ones are controlled by emirs. That allows companies that may not look to be connected, 'sponsor' City or PSG or even Chelsea. That makes it all look legitimate. For example how may times do you see Gazprom advertised. Since ordinary consumers can't actually buy their products doesn't it make you wonder why they would bother?

The point I was trying to bring up with all this is that we have been operating in a very poor way (wage-wise) for years and now it is biting us in the butt. So all those who are clamouring for Kroenke to invest, it simply wont help until we get the wage bill back in order. It's gonna be a long road although we may get some reprieve come summer when Cech, Welbeck and Ramsey leave.
The latest news coming from Spain is that the negotiations with Barca for Suarez have broken down because we couldn't commit to the buy option after the loan.
I assume this is because we are not guaranteed to get a CL spot. A bit of catch 22 if you ask me. Without reinforcements in January, it's unlikely that we will get that spot. We got an owner who can't even back us up in trouble time.

How we looking on the home grown players front can we afford to lose Welbeck and Ramsey without getting homegrown replacements?
Article is a pathetic attempt to find a way to continue to blame previous regime for all our issues. The remarkable thing is how well it has worked on pliable weak minds. Kroenke laughing all the way to bank
