Emery has made no improvements

Emery has made us better or at least stopped us getting worse, our record would be worse if Wenger was still in charge of that I am certain, a lot of these players are still Wenger’s players I’m confident once we get in players more suited to Emery’s style we’ll see improvements but he needs time at least until the end of next season(unless something goes very badly wrong)

At the start of the season I thought we improved in our fitness as we always looked stronger in second halves. However that has all changed and the injures are back.

Honestly think if Wenger was in charge he probably would have got the same results. I haven't seen the improvements yet

"I don’t think they are identical at all. Auba is pretty average when has the ball but amazing off it. Lacazette has a quality all round game, but doesn’t have that poacher’s instinct off it"

Don't think Laca really has that great of an all round game. Tries one touch passes and flicks too often, dribbles into trouble a lot, often gets isolated etc. Reminds me of Aguero, just has a great little burst of pace & a shot.

Auba as you say is a different style, more brains than physicality, but effectively the same player.

He's made plenty of improvements, the squad is just facking shiiit.

Obviously not faultless though. Needs to stop playing Auba on the wings. If he wants to incorporate both Auba and Lacazette, he should try laca in the no. 10 role.

Not sure what he's doing with Torreira either. Obviously a quality player, but he keeps pushing him forward too much. Needs to stick him in a proper DM role.

I was looking forward to seeing what I think would be a decentish partnership between Sokratis and Koscielny, but they both got facking injured. Just our luck.

I looked at that Arsenal line up, my Arsenal supporting mate was confident, my Liverpool supporting mate thought they'd edge it (and not in an anti-United wind up way) but I thought it was such a weak weak Arsenal team. As the line up was presented, the last three (Ramsey, Lacazette, Aubamayeng) were obviously quality but the 8 before that was dreadful on paper and not much better on grass as it turned out.

This United team isn't brilliant by any means but player for player, looking at the line ups last night, they're a distance better than Arsenal. And that's how it played out on the pitch

Still dunno what people expect, this squad is poor, unbalanced and ravaged by injuries. And honestly what better manager would've come to the club in this state? Got to give Emery another summer at least to get who he wants in and ship out some of the dross.
Instead of expecting instant results I'm being patient, we're 2-3 years minimum from being a good team again.
Saying you expected us to be more solid? Well that was never gonna happen with that defence unless we'd brought in a defensive manager, but then you'd be moaning about something else instead.

Ramsey is a decent player but blows too hot and cold to be worth the wages he wants.

Aye, most sensible arsenal fans predicted we'd finish outside the top 4 with this squad. And yet, some of those very same people moan when things aren't going right. It was never going to be an easy ride.

I agree Emery needs more time, he needs better players to implement his style of play. I had my doubts about him when he got the job and I still do, but he deserves to be backed.

"Basically all the creativity lies with Kolasinac rather than the Mf"

Absolute agree with this assessment. Absolute no width at all which is a major concern for some seasons now. We blame him also when he is not defending because he has to do a job for two positions.

As in previous years we cant cope with injuries and in Arsenal case and that is not excuse for Wenger or for Emery now injuries played a big part in being where we are in now.

This game swung with Sokratis injury. We havent really recovered from that. Heads dropped. Not taking away anything from United's performance who where way ahead of us with all their depths in the team all over the pitch.

^ Absolutely hilarious watching how you clowns have changed from saying any manager would do better with this squad than Wenger to now the squad is too weak. Absolute comedy

Wenger did far better than this in the last ten years with far far worse squads. Get your stupid head out of the sand you moron

Want to add one thing. This bollox to play Xhaka in defense when you have at least Monreal on the bench needs to stop. AMN isnt a RB and a liability against these kind of teams. Not criticising him at all. Good youngster with a bright future ahead.

Injuries hit us hard no doubt but at least play the players in the right position.

Do us a favour mate and stop banging on about Wenger after every defeat. You go on like he was still doing a great job. Reality was we were worse than this last season and there was literally no chance of us improving with him either, whereas at least Emery has time to learn.

We actually played very well. Man Utd were set up to counter and did that very well because they have pace in their attackers and we don't in our midfield.

My only reservation was that Emery found the right combination against Chelsea but changed the formation yesterday. That in my opinion was a mistake.

Emery protected the full backs against Chelsea with Torreira and Gwen. Iwobi completely unbalanced us.

This time last season we were 6th and 8 points off 4th place. We lost 3-1 to Swansea in the league and we're dumped out of the FA Cup by Nottingham Forest.

We had 42 points from 25 games (currently 44 from 23) and +12 GD (currently +16).

We have in no way declined under Emery. Despite him facing the worst injury crisis I can remember.

Didn't they show a comparison between this season and last season under Wenger last night on BBC? One place better off and 5 points ahead this season I think.

So no he wasn't doing better than this.

That simple is wrong. We had similar injury problems that hit our main players under Wenger. Dont blamed Wenger for that and dont blame Emery för that at all. Just bad luck at a wrong time. Out Death in the squad is simple not enough.

So being 2 points up on last season is seen as some sort of improvement?

It is because we are still in the fight for the top 4. We are just as good as Chelsea, Man Utd and Spurs.

posted on 26/1/19

Let be realistic. We are not as good as those teams and I think over the next few months those teams will all probably be 6-7 points ahead.

We have been lucky due to Mourinho none sence and Chelsea with Sarri but all of these teams have far better squads and I think this will show in the end

You are also very injured with no guarantees that Kane and Alli will hit the ground running when they come back. Tiredness associated with the World cup always has a major impact around Easter the following season because of the lack of a winter break and shortened preseason. So we'll see if you are not drawn back into the fight.

J99, come on man. We're not.

I've said countless times that we have the worst squad out of the top 6. And that if Emery got us in the top 4, it would be a minor miracle.

Chelsea, United, Spurs, Liverpool and City ALL have better 11s and better squads than us.

I expect us to finish 6th this season, which is roughly what I expected beforehand anyway, and that is par for the course.

I really do hope we win the Europa, though. There are some tricky teams in there, but none will be as hard as Atletico were last season. We have a decent shot at it.
