Reported that we're putting a £20m bid IN. I don't know much about this Rabiot, but that sounds kind of low for a 23 year old from PSG.
Anyway, I don't expect anything to happen but if this is serious then yet again, why will it have been left to the last minute? Nothing would make me understand that thought process.

It’s bloody high considering he’d out of contract in the summer & PSG said he won’t play for them again

Ok that makes sense then. I suppose those are the sort of players we're going to be able to afford/go after.
He`s a quality player that could improve our squad, but (if you believe the rumours) apparently he has already turned us down, and said that we are not good enough for him.
It`s said that he is a bit of a mummies boy and that she pulls all his strings. He comes across as a bit of a twatt if you believe all the talk, but of course that could all be nonsense though.
I can`t see it happening, even if he wanted to come, Levy would balk at his alleged wage demands.

Not confirmed yet
PSG are awaiting a replacement - possibly Everton’s Idrissa Gana Gueye
If so - Spurs can get a quality player & great deal for 20 Mil
i think his mum is his agent
barca have agreed to sign the midfielder from ajax so rabiot's options have been reduced
decent player but if he ain't intrested in playing for us then no point bidding for him

Thinks he's above our level when PSG don't want him. No big loss then.
Have our scouts tried looking at clubs other than PSG?

I get that, I’ve just seen a lot in press that he’s already got a deal lined up with Barca.
Could be BS who knows
Barca want him? Must not be that good then.
He’s a boyhood Liverpool fan too. Worked well for you in the recent past with Keane and Alli
He wants to come to Liverpool, which is fair dos as replacement for Milner.
Liverpool won't pay a fee for him as he is out of contract in the summer.
Levy trying to get in first as he knows v Liverpool has no chance of signing him.
so choice for Rabiot is, sign for spurs and have the prospect of not knowing what manager he will play for..
or wait and ..
Sign for Liverpool
huge signing fee
playing for Klopp
Guaranteed champions league
Barca have also signed Kevin Prince Boateng believe it or not

Actually Liverpool held meetings about potential Adrien Rabiot transfer on jan 1st.
Though finally Klopp decided to pull out having signed Naby Keita and Fabinho
Barcelona do make some incredibly bizarre signings. They were after Mignolet in summer apparently.

We need another midfield though, as Henderson and Milner need replacing
Pros:
1. He's an excellent player
2. Only 23
3. He's 6'3", big lad
4. Perfect Dembele replacement, plays same position and style
5. Contract is up in the summer so relatively cheap
6. Barca have signed Frenkie De Jong so won't want Rabiot any more, so Rabiot's options seem limited right now
Cons:
1. Known attitude problems
2. Said previously Spurs are beneath him
3. Priced himself out of a contract renewal, so no way Spurs can afford his wages
4. Contract situation means someone else will almost certainly step in if he's holding out for bigger wages elsewhere
Don't see it happening myself.
Barca have been working the market -
On Jan 8th, they also signed a cb - Jean-Clair Todibo on free transfer from Toulouse - he will join them next July

That reasoning doesn’t make a whole lot of sense because..
Keita was basically a Liverpool player from last season and Fabinho was the first signing in the summer.
So Klopp went into talks with Rabiot knowing that already and then said no because we already have those two?
Very doubtful.
This is pretty much like VVD, who waited out rebuffed offers incl from Man City and joined Liverpool in the next window.
2. Said previously Spurs are beneath him

Which was the cue for levy to attempt it and then say “we tried”
