Great servants can quickly become passengers Jfdi. The short of it is willian has been poor for a year with the sporadic good performance chucked in every few months. While holding back genuine young talent.

T L L L Barkley was doing OK before his injury.He is still better than Kante and Jorginho as well as Kovacic at times.

Zah...if you removed 'Kante' from that sentence it (might) make sense

I wish we could some how offer Willian as part of the deal to bring Coutinho to the Bridge, we'd basically killing 3 birds with 1 stone. Getting rid of Willian, Keeping Hudson-Odoi and more importantly getting someone with vision and passing into our midfield.

Would be nice. Just getting 50 mill for Willian would be fantastic business

I like Willy but have to admit his consistent days are behind him.

I do find it disrespectful however, the tone some people talk about him though!

Don't forget he also deserves credit for talking $purs for a flight, medical and then signing for us!

Yeah but Kante isn't good offensively.He is better as a defensive midfielder which made him win two league titles-one with Leicester and the other with Chelsea.There you go Sheriff.Now please don'tvtry to convince me that Kante is better in an advanced role.He is useless in an offensive role but still I love him.I feel keeping him at the club is more important even than keeping Hazard at the club.He is a world class DM who has actually even scored a few vital goals for us this season despite being a natural ball tackler and breaker of opponent team's offensive play.

Like I say I’ll always back our players at Matches but don’t have an issue with people voicing concerns on here. Atleast we look to be going in the right direction if Emerson starts on Wednesday

Box to box and side to side midfield dynamo covering for two positions due to Matic inability to move, usually left to roam and cover the midfield while Matic sat as our dm.

Obviously due to tackles and interceptions, he is obviously better at defensive things than attacking but he is more than a sit and hold dm

I always looked at him as a DM to be honest. To me he did a similar role to Makka, moped up in front of the defence and played in to the more attacking players!

I think people need to consider that this first time that Kante has played in a team which doninates possession.

Literally it makes no sense for Kante to play as the holding midfielder - it would only waste Kante. I would say Kante is extremely well rounded as a midfielder, he can do pretty much everything. Why waste him in a position where he would mostly just sit there in front of the defence and recycle the ball.

He has a wider skill set than Jorginho, why waste him in a position which kills his freedom to press, and put him in a position which requires him to sit behind the ball.

Additionally, why drag Jorginho into a position which he has never succeeded at. He never made it at the top level playing in advanced positions.

I would much prefer to see Kante use his running, both to hunt the ball down in advanced positions, and create chances. Than restrict him in the more limited Jorginho role.

I think this undersells Kante's many attributes.

The guy has made lots of contributions going forward this season. From creating chances to scoring important goals

Much as Kante's still adapting to the more aggressive nature of his role this season yesterday demonstrated how well he's doing by comparison to Kovacic & Barkley. Kovacic gets some slack because he's on loan/has always been more of a playmaker type, but Barkley has surprised me lately. He was on the verge of proving my wrong about him before October, but the last two months has only proven me right - he'll amount to nothing more than a squad player for Sarri if that.
