Yeah was a shame. Was at the game so haven’t seen replays but a couple times the lino flagged when I wasn’t sure. If youd want anyone in our team on the end of it, it would be hazard.
Also heard that Kante was taken out first half and zinchenko should have been sent off.
But those are the breaks...
That was bizarre as it went against the VAR protocol set out for the refs.
Looked offside to me.
Thought Chelsea lucky to end with 11. Jorginho could have gone. Although judging by his penalty, that might have played in their favour.
Yep error from the linesman, looked a tight call.
It was RLC who did a nice flick over the midfielder and played the ball through to Hazard. He looked level when they showed it on the replay.
They hardly mentioned the Zinchenko incident with Kante, if it was a foul, then it's a red card.
Ah well, great performance, felt we deserved to win.
VAR is great. Was watching the Real Madrid game last night and it really helped the ref in making sure he was making the wrong decision to help Real Madrid. If there was no VAR then he would not have known if it was wrong or not so might not have known if he'd get his bonus or not.

I saw that incident when they gave handball because the guy was trying to protect the ball hitting his face
I was pretty close to that linesman and it gave you the impression that he’s been instructed to help City through the match, very dodgy. That said I thought the linesman on the other side of the pitch was sympathetic towards Chelsea.
First half It was a cage game, City enjoying the majority of possession but did very little with it, in the 2nd half, Chelsea looked dangerous on the counter attack and if they had shooting boots on, Chelsea would have won it in the end
Again, was at the game, did hazard get motm in the end? I know they don’t usually give It to a player on the losing side.

It was the 2nd incident where VAR showed that Casimero had dived so the ref could clearly see that he had made the wrong call, so was happy to give it knowing he'd get his wrong decision bonus.

I thought Hazard was the best player on the pitch for me. He is still the best player in the premiership and if Real get him unchallenged they will have got a very good player.
I actually think Hazard is a touch underrated lately. Also felt he as the best player at the world cup but oh well.
Zinchenko did foul kante, but I thought it was handball by kante 1st.
Think he gets underrated due to output, but games like yesterday show just how alone he is. Whether as salah for example, will have mane and firmino as fools and even shaqiri to come on and help out.
He is probably one of the purest footballers I’ve seen.
well however tight it was the replays showed hazard was just off so not really a error, yes they are told to keep the flag down but its the right decision what's it matter
if hazard say goes through and the keeper saves it for a corner then Chelsea score from the corner can they still go back to the original hazard chance because Chelsea have still gained from a non offside call?
what about when Kane was offside against Chelsea league cup, he went through brought down by kepa and scored from the penalty Var didnt go back then and change the decision.

Although, all things being equal I thought Hazard was the outstanding player on the pitch. Heads and tails above everyone else on the day.

Quality player, Bernardo Silva. He was really good in the 1st half but then didn't see much from him after that. Thought Emerson handled him well considering how difficult it is to get the ball off him and how badly Alonso played vs him in the 6-0.
Silva is a great player. They really are stacked with talent in that department

----------------------------------------------------------------------
Exactly, it was no way clear enough for the lino to automatically flag that. Even if it was very close, in real time I actually thought he was well onside. It may have been a kind of instinctive response due to years of officiating without VAR, very much a beginner's mistake, but a very bad one nonetheless.
I'd expect the referee committee to pull him up on that privately.

Hazard?
I was literally right in line with that and it looked onside to me and everyone around me
Apparently he was just offside but it must have been tight.
I think officials haven't quite got used to working with VAR yet. I also thought linesmen were instructed to keep their flags down in situations like that - and then VAR could clear up the situation afterwards. After working with VAR for a while I bet assistant refs will get used to keeping their flag down and using VAR to verify later. It just didn't go Chelsea's way yesterday.
Fish, both instances in real time on the telly looked to me exactly as you described them, yet replays showed them both to be very, very tight calls.
More evidence, if any were needed, of just how tricky a lino's job is. I really can't understand why people are against providing them with technological aids to help them make the right decisions.

I have seen the Aguero one on telly and was genuinely surprised at how close it was
He looked about 2 yards off from where I was, in the stands but it was more like a foot / foot and a half
I'm all for the technology. Should clear plenty up and if some decisions are tight or the evidence isn't clear cut, go with the on-field decision.
