Who needs Replacing?

To be clear, with Toby "gone". I mean he is clearly leaving, not that I think he's not.good enough

It ain't gonna happen mate, we will make do with a few juniors, if levy dont support a squad with a chance of winning something cant see it happening next season, with the stadium hanging over us and players moving on

In that CM space, I'd like an "enforcer/leader" type. Wanyama showed good signs for one season, or it could be a much better version of Henderson or Dier. Winks has some of the qualities but not the physical presence.
This type of player is essential for winning teams over many decades.

That's my fear. My only hope is that with the stadium being completed, and the Wembley contingency costs done, that baldy might provide at least some limited net spend. What bugs me is, for a team with such a limited.budget, why are our scouts so shart?

I've lost all faith in Levy. I'm not banking on him bringing in adequate replacements and/or doing so in a timely fashion. It will be another clusterfack of a transfer window where we won't have done anything for the first month and a half while Baldy is playing hardball with teams for the max fees for Eriksen and Toby.

If Eriksen leaves we need

Toby Replacement
Eriksen replacement

RB (Trippier/Aurier not good enough)
LB (Davies not good enough, Rose not fit enough)
DM (replace Wanyama)
CM (replace Dembele)
AM (replace lamela)

Never gonna happen

With Toby probably leaving we will probably sign another youngster though I’d rather sign an experienced player that can give more experience to Sanchez and Foyth as I see them two as our future.

Aurier will leave over Trippier, Poch clearly has no faith in him and Trippier is English.

Left back I’d be ok if Davies and Rose didn’t leave and Davies put as CB cover and signed a new left back.

CM: I dunno what to do there, we clearly need a top signing there but who I dunno, it’s probably worth moving Wanyama on if anyone.

Attack I’m ok with, Eriksen will probably leave and need replacing and I’d be ok with Llorente signing a new contract.

A pacy winger/striker would be useful. At the moment I'm not trusting Lamela or Lucas. Lucas I'm hoping will improve again next season. I think he needs to. Lamela is not going to improve any more on what we've already seen from him. And Llorente is 34 and hasn't had the impact we want. He should be moving over for a youngster.

The importance of a captain/General is so understated at our club. Hugo does wonders behind the scenes at our club being a senior figure and Kane leads by example but we lack someone taking every game by the scruff of the neck.

Roy Keane, viera, terry, gerrard (to an extent) all players hated by rivals but adored by fans. We need this type of player.

City have kompany
Liverpool have Henderson (average player, good leader)
United have young, surprisingly good leader
Chelsea have dropped heavily without terry

Our closest player is dier. I wouldn’t be against it.

I doubt there will be that many signings, I think we will keep our current selection of full backs because there are more important areas of the team that needs strengthening.

I can see us replacing Toby, Eriksen, Llorente and Vorm, and signing a CM or maybe 2.

Ideally we keep Toby and Eriksen, get rid of Llorente, Janssen, GKN, Vorm.

Then sign a CM, a forward also capable of playing out wide, a third choice keeper and some competition for Eriksen.

Unfortunately the above is unlikely, as Toby and Eriksen are as good as gone, and Levy is skint, he will want another joke of a break even window.

Weve been set back for several reasons leaving a lot to be addressed.

Us and liverpool were a similar level last season after they improved under klopp and we stood still after 2 fantastic seasons where we should have won something. Since then our squad has stagnated in quality. Liverpool the last year have had emergence of one of the best LBs and best RBs in the league, signed a leader at the back, massive improvement in GK department and signed a couple of quality central midfielders to add depth. In which time weve signed fack all. Ideally we could have sold eriksen this summer for a Coutinho like fee and invest similarly, but probably too late for that now.

A couple of CMs and 2 new FBs and CL footy are a must for the start of next season.

Would be nice to bring into the squad someone with some bollox and isn’t going to fold as soon as we get ourselves into a good position.

Not signing players the past two windows has caused a lot of damage and will carry onto the next window.
If we manage to sign what we need how long would they need to settle?
