Not only his worst performance of the year, but probably his worst ever performance at the Crucible, worse than the breakdown Vs Edbon and Dott in 2006 because those guys were still very good players.

Now I know this looks like I'm disrespecting Cahill and he's done ok, but he's getting 3-4 chances every frame.

Looks like he's going out, he needs 3 quick frames, then see where he is.. Thought when he got 5-5 & 48 up in the 11th he was cruising... Not at all.. FFS c'mon Ron.

Yes, he started well and there's no doubt he can still win, but if he makes the mistakes he was making, he will get punished. I think if he had a more dangerous first round opponent, they would've finished him off by now.

think cahill is starting the feel the pressure now

anyone think ronnie couldnt be arsssed making the effort needed to win the worlds?
2 weeks of long matches

and is effectively throwing this match ?

his decision making and some of his misses have been ludicrously bad for such a good player

to think Ronny was favourite for tournament.
Didnt fancy Selby so had 20 on Trump.
After Murphys 1st round had 5ew at 33/1

He doesn't need to win it of course, won it 5 times already, but for me, if he doesn't win another one, he is not the GOAT.

For me, that's fine, no shame in being behind Hendry, but if he doesn't do it because he couldn't be bothered to win the WC, that's a real shame.

To be fair, I don't think he's not bothered, I feel he's trying to find some magic formula to win at the Crucible again, whereas normal snooker would serve him a lot better. That's my opinion anyway.

Great break at the end from Cahill, well done

As for Ronnie, absolutely terrible. Never have I seen him play where you didn't think he would score with the balls in open play. Today, I kept thinking he would miss. Yesterday was just as bad, if not worse.

Even at the end he played some good shots and got a bit unlucky, but if anyone deserved to be unlucky, it was Ronnie. Terrible performance and attitude after the season he has had.

He was just lucky it wasn't a more dangerous player, otherwise it could've been something like 10-2.

Ronnie doesnt look well tbh

He didn't look 100% to be fair

FFS, poor Ronnie, anyway, I'm behind Trump now... Still furious... 😩

I suppose now that Ronnie's out, I would like to see a first time winner, maybe Ding, Judd or Allen.

It just shows you that you can't take anything for granted. Maybe the greatest shock ever?

Now if Trump got knocked out.................. Ding would have a lovely path................

Ding has had a terrible season, but has recently been a lot better in the WC since 2016 (apart from that capitulation Vs Hawkins last year). There's absolutely no way Ding and Judd should be playing each other so early.

They should both be in the top 4 or at least top 6.

Sad that one of them will go out.

If trump doesn’t win the WC now he really should retire

Poor from Ronnie but he just doesn’t care about the WC it’s too long for him and too boring he cba

Really hope Judd wins but 1st round match is tricky. Then Ding in last 16 another tough game. It is a shame Judd and Ding have to meet so early (assuming Judd can get through)

If Trump gets past his first round, then Ding v Trump could be very tasty, along with Robertson v Murphy. I think most people would have assumed that both Ding and Trump would have won a world title by now, but it just shows you how tough it is to do so, and at least one of them will have to wait another year.

Problem with that is, if this happens every year, some really terrible players will end up winning the title.

Secondly, he's the the world number 1 player, if anything the long format should suit him. In major finals (which are more than one session, he usually pulls away from his opponent). Beating Ronnie over 3-4 sessions should be the biggest challenge in snooker at the moment, doesn't make sense to me.

The other players are probably loving it, some get totally dominated by him during the season and then just sit back and watch him play terrible in the early rounds.

With more finals being best of 21 and best of 25 like this season, I have a feeling that the World Title will start becoming slightly easier to win for the players that get to the latter end of these tournaments.

I never understood why they shortened the UK to a best of 19 final in 1993. Most good young players have struggled since then at the Worlds because the Worlds are so much longer than other tournaments.

Ding or Judd could get Selby in the semi, although the way Selby played yesterday he's not a winner, Judd v Robertson final?
