But but but.......what if you lose tonight ?

posted on 5/4/19

You say this before every game they win.

The games they have been winning are against poor teams...now they have a proper run of games and quite a few away....they will drop points now.

put 5 goals past southampton and get that goal differential closer that might psych them out a bit.

I had assumed we would draw tonight so a win would be big , city’s run of tough games starts next week and I am expecting at least 2 draws for them in April .
Comfy win tonight would put lots of pressure on them

Lfc...exactly, winning tonight really puts the pressure on..they know they have a real run of difficult games and by being 2 points ahead they know they have to win...that's real pressure the never had last season.

We have to win as to lose or draw would mean we are gone... we would be behind and having a game more and city would run away with it.

In the end we must win EVERY game but especially next 2 league and hopefully hammer porto in between.

Surely it’s crushing for you that they seem unflappable and continuously overtake you

"psychologically that's got be crushing and it's why we must win!"

Is it "psychologically crushing" that even when you're two points ahead, City will be one ahead after their game in hand?

Don't think tonight it's a particularly high pressure game for Liverpool.

It'll be when the games come following CL ties and both sides are playing side by side.

Southampton are safe and Liverpool have everything to play for. Think it'll be a win by 2+ goals.

They've certainly looked psychologically crushed recently. In pole position for a domestic treble...

Who's in goal for Southampton nowadays and is he prone to last minute howlers??

That way your run should continue

It works both ways to be fair. It's incredibly frustrating that we're going to hit 90 points and the league's not even in our hands, but it must be equally frustrating that City have won something ridiculous like 12 of their last 13 games and can't shake us off.

I guess it's harder psychologically when you're playing second though.

don't think either team will go 6 from 6 in the run in, think 1st team to slip up loses

posted on 5/4/19

i honestly believe we will every league game here on in..i know, setting myself up for a fall etc etc; but thats what i believe.

We just had our hardest fixture vs Spurs, i think CFC will difficult but no as hard as spurs were...the rest, i think if u could hand pick the last fixtures then u probably would pick who we have; even in teh CL we have the weakest of all the teams left.

There may be a problem when we get past porto...fingers crossed because i suspect its Barca we will face.

City are more likely to win games for me so I have them as favourites for the title but strange things can happen. They've got to play Utd & Tottenham so things are evening up. We have a chance and sometimes that's all you need.

no difference 4-0 or 5-0.

I don't think City will feel the psychological testing as much as Liverpool will. This City team are defending champions, record breakers for most points. They have it drilled within them about pressure. Sure it's different kind to last season where they were run away winners, but their most important players have dealt with pressure more immense than this back in 2012.
Liverpool will run them close, but unless City suffer major injuries from now till end of season, it's theirs to lose.

Though I will say this, playing before each game as has been happening recently is advantageous to Liverpool, but it's not worth anything if City keep overtaking once they've played.

Yep, yet another lucky stroke for Klopp

Saints were desperate for points just few games ago, and showed some character to win few.

And this game in time for Liverpool jammers, is almost meaningless.

"Lucky" season continues

GB. when I looked at the table just now Man City were top of the league. So not sure why you say everytime City look at the league they see Liverpool top, they don`t.

City have a much harder run in if you include the CL, they have to play Tottenham three times for a start, and also go to their biggest rivals Manchester United. I don`t see City winning every game until the end of the season. The big games coming one on top of each other will take its toil. So yes Liverpool do have a good chance of winning the title, much easier run in, although not playing that well, getting results. Tonight is a huge game for them.
